(00:01) This is a very important matter. It is a wonderful topic that impacts the youth of all of India. That is why I have written down a script. Usually, I just speak freely, but I have to address not only the Indian youth here but also Indian youth living in other countries as well, don't I? So, I need to be careful; I have to choose my words cautiously.
(00:31) That is why I decided to read from a script. I will read it, so please listen calmly. Truth be told, seeing the current narrow-minded trends in jobs, family, and society, the youth are saying, "Oh my God." Well, many types of live-in relationships have emerged. Setting that aside for a moment, we must also observe some of the things that are happening.
(01:00) Settling down is becoming significantly delayed. The salary from a first job is not enough for a couple to get married. To earn enough salary, you need at least five years of experience. By then, age is catching up. Whether before or after marriage, people work day and night with no time or flexibility left.
(01:25) After finally getting married, both have to work intensely in this competitive world. There is money, but no opportunity to live happily together. Due to lack of patience and eating out, people are facing obesity and early fatigue. If they have children, due to lack of speed in their career, one never knows when the management might terminate the job.
(01:56) After marriage, the children's health becomes a question mark in many families. Lacking a healthy mental and physical environment , children as young as four or five are being possessed by the "mobile monster. " It has become impossible for busy parents to prevent this. In this irritable and chaotic environment, differences of opinion arise between husband and wife for every little thing ; by the time children reach 10, 11, or 12, they learn things they shouldn't.
(02:31) Sometimes, they even get exposed to various bad habits. All in all, couples are left wondering why they even got married. Current married life has become an unbearably heavy and expensive project, and seeing this reality, I am afraid to tell the youth to just go get married. Speaking somewhat spiritually, it is a matter of past life karma that couples are forced to live with different perspectives.
(03:13) So , I am in a difficult position to advise youth to knowingly enter this chaos, because even if you want to adjust, it is impossible; so, what responsible advice should I give to the youth? I will say it; it would be good if the youth listen. Saying that one must get married no matter what is not the right advice for these times, and I certainly won't give it.
(03:44) My advice is: consider if marriage is necessary for your life, if you can bear its responsibilities, and if you have the time, mindset, financial stability, and maturity for it. Now, it's about competition for studies and jobs, career building, financial commitments, long working hours, stress, marriage, dual careers, children, and childcare crises—this is the current life pattern. Don't forget this.
(04:21) Once, marriage was just a part of life; now, for many, it has become a huge project. Two people even with an income of ten million might not be happy. Conversely, two people with a modest income might be very happy; this means it is not just about money, but also about mutual respect, love, and the courage to face problems together.
(04:50) Since times have changed completely, saying that marriage has become serious is not entirely true; another important thing is that we cannot change every person we meet to suit our preferences. Don't forget this. Remember, only our choice of who we pick is in our hands; the entirety of that person's nature is not in our control.
(05:16) This is a matter that needs to be understood very carefully. Another sensitive matter: do not link career settlement with marriage, because defining what "settlement" means is difficult as it depends on individual perceptions. If you earn 50,000, you want a lakh; if you get a lakh, you want a house; once you get a house, you want a car.
(05:45) Often, one person may adjust, but the other may not. The million-dollar question is what to adjust to and what not to adjust to. However, if a person says, " I don't need marriage; I can lead a meaningful life alone, and I have the necessary emotional, social, and financial arrangements,"...that is okay , very good.
(06:16) I say that not only I, but everyone should respect that decision. But I do not agree with the notion that everyone who gets married has fallen into a trap. The real danger is not in getting married, but in marrying the wrong person for the wrong reasons. Getting married out of fear of loneliness, societal pressure, fear of getting too old, focusing on money, looks, or status, or the illusion that they will change after marriage—these are very dangerous.
(06:57) It is true that a wedding is a one-day event, but you have to live its consequences every day , or if necessary, every hour. Are you ready? You need to think about that, right? I will not force you to get married. At the same time, I won't scare you out of it either. Because tomorrow, it is you who has to sustain, endure, experience, and adjust to everything! "Am I ready to share my life with this person, under these circumstances, with these responsibilities, and in this time?" Think, think, and think again. Getting
(07:43) married is not wrong, and not getting married is not wrong either. "If my job is lost tomorrow, or if today is my last day in this job?" When you ask yourself this question, if you have the assurance that "It's fine, I have taken care of myself," then I appreciate you. Do you think I am going to say you should think about marriage now? I will not; I certainly will not.
(08:11) Because marriage should not be tied to a job. When should we link them? I would say you can think about marriage when you are in a position to create jobs instead of just doing one. There is a big difference here. Another important point: before marriage, you must at least have an emergency fund, health insurance, and savings for several months of living expenses.
(08:39) There should be control over debts, and the ability to stand on one's own feet for some time with the other's income if one loses their job. There should be realistic expectations regarding expenses. Do not step into marriage unless these are in place. Because life after marriage should not be limited to just that first month.
(09:04) I wrote this because the youth are in a lot of confusion. They are confused for various reasons. They are unable to even reach a decision on what is a valid reason and what is not. "I'm not getting married, I'm not getting married, I'm not getting married"— that's it! There is fear on one side and a desire to get married on the other.
(09:32) So, how can I not say something about the youth who are in such a dilemma? I reached a decision and wrote this script. I don't know how it is, but listen to it again if you need to. So, this is the essence of this video. Thank you for listening. If you liked this, please subscribe to my video and share it with many others.
(09:53) And if you would like to talk to me, feel free to do so; my phone number is 9491063089. Hi, my name is Maruthi Kiran, and my family name is Poruri. You know, the bell icon and the like button? Since you are already clicking them, get some others to press them too. Because you have many unmarried friends, you would be helping them out that way; also, a small request: after watching this video, please share your thoughts in the comment box.
(10:28) It is fine if you criticize me, because I have the opportunity to learn from those mistakes as well. So, that is all. Thank you.
