(00:00) But still, what is beyond the brain? Now, modern science is slowly advancing to understand the difference between brain waves and the heart waves. Recently, I read an article about the study [music] of this magnetometer. Earlier, they were using Kirlian camera, but uh modern community didn't accept it.
(00:22) Then another camera came, biophoton camera, which is being used by even modern doctors now. Learn to listen the language of heart. Here also, commonly we used to say, "Hey, think through [music] your heart more than your brain." The link between the energy and the matter is our mind. That is why masters [music] again declared, "Manomayam idam sarvam.
(00:45) " Everything is your mind. >> Guru Yogi Shivanji, thank you for coming to my podcast. After a lot of conversations, so happy that you made it. Thank you. Namaste. So, Guruji, I know I wanted to have this discussion with you on, you know, you talk a lot about Siddha, and also about the healing powers of mantra. Yeah.
(01:08) So, if you were to give an essence of your core teaching, how would you put that? And then we can elaborate from there. >> Right from my childhood, I used to hear from my father and his colleagues. Always they talk about mantra. Whenever they won't give a medicine [music] to somebody, they will discuss which mantra is going to be added.
(01:30) So, the technique of healing was, that time, the combination of marunna mantra. [music] Marunna is medicine. Medicine for the body, mantra for the mind. Then, when I reached to college level, when I started discussing with others regarding [music] the relevance of mantra, I came to know this only as superstitious belief, >> [music] >> which has not got any kind of scientific background.
(01:56) >> About mantras? >> About mantras. This is This was the common narrative I had gone through >> Mhm. >> in my young age when I was in the college. I was also actually an exponent of that because in college usually we'll be working in SFI. [music] >> Mhm. I was about to think about it. >> Yes.
(02:16) That means we have to deny all traditional beliefs and >> SFI stands for Students Front of India as a part of the communist propaganda. Just to let you know. The people who hear that just >> go to college. >> yeah, yeah. Ah, yes. SFI means Students Federation of India. >> Yeah. And it was a part of the communist propaganda. >> Yes. >> A lot of ethic ethicist kind of a mentality.
(02:35) >> People are from that, but again, I was into that. Like 99% young guys during that time, you know, blindly falling into that thinking that we are something special and scientific and we are away from the traditional superstitious beliefs. >> Mhm. >> But anyhow, that was another story. But later when I confronted [music] with the realities of life, then I came to know something is there [music] in that traditional concept.
(03:04) >> Mhm. >> Marunna, yes, body is only [music] a manifested form of a subtle energy which we call mind. >> Mhm. >> Then how you can control the mind? Without dealing with the mind, how you can deal with the body? >> Mhm. >> So, Ayurveda also in essence, the core Sushruta Maharshi is declaring this. Sharira manasu yogo parasparam anurajet.
(03:31) Body and mind are complementing each other. Adhar adheya bhavena. It's like primary and secondary. They are working together. >> Mhm. >> So, if you want to deal with your body, your matter, then you have to deal with the energy behind it. That is the essence. So, mantra is the medicine for the mind.
(03:55) Marunna is usual medicine for for the body. So, without mantra, no medicine is going to work. This is what I experienced. So, this is the relevance. >> So, you mentioned something about Okay, you were in your college and there was this feeling that these all are superstitions and everything has a scientific background or what we call logical thing.
(04:16) I I still don't like to say that scientific background means we can't call mantra scientific. It's just that the current laboratory is not able to prove it. >> Mhm. >> And just because a current laboratory clinical evidence cannot prove it does not mean that is not there. So, you said that as I got into the reality of life, that is when you had this feeling.
(04:33) What was that reality of life if you're open to sharing that? >> Yes, when I was in Middle East dealing with the people who could buy everything either with money power or muscle power. >> Mhm. >> They could buy everything. And I saw they were miserably failing in front of two things, serious diseases and death. >> Mhm.
(04:50) >> People Doctors used to come from different countries. As we send our taxi or a driver and bring a doctor, they they can send their royal flight to any countries and bring any experts. And I saw few deaths in front of me and all doctors said, "Sorry, body is not reacting to medicine." So, body is not reacting to medicine, then what medicine can do? So, body was failing, not medicine. That was my experience.
(05:19) There I came to know something is there working as a background where medicine is working. >> Mhm. >> That is what is called the power of [music] mind. When I studied the technicalities of modern medicine >> Mhm. >> I mean, not I'm not a medical expert, but for getting knowledge how medicines are working for mind.
(05:39) [music] Only tranquilizers or some chemicals which will deal with the chemical combination of of brain. But still, what is beyond the brain? >> Mhm. >> Now, modern science is slowly advancing to understand the difference between brain waves and the heart waves. [music] Recently, I read an article about the study of this magnetometer.
(06:01) >> [music] >> Mhm. >> Earlier, they were using Kirlian camera, but modern community didn't accept it. Then another camera came, biophoton camera, which is being used by even modern doctors now. Another one is magnetometer, which is measuring power of thoughts. >> Mhm. >> And with that device, they could find out 2 in just away from the skull, [music] they could find out the brain waves.
(06:26) And the same thought is projecting from the heart [music] 6 ft away from the heart. >> Mhm. >> Then they declared that the power of heart is 60 times more than the power of brain. >> Mhm. >> So, brain waves alone cannot control our mind. >> Mhm. >> Something is there in the heart. This is what even Albert Einstein also said, "Learn to listen the language of heart.
(06:53) " >> Mhm. >> Here also, commonly we used to say, "Hey, think through your heart more than your brain." Why? So, one major part of the mind >> Mhm. >> is in the heart. In yoga and Ayurveda, Siddha Veda, everything is declaring heart is the source of your soul, Hiranyagarbha. Garbha in Sanskrit, the womb, the source of life.
(07:18) Hiranya means divine energy or the effulgence. >> Mhm. >> So, here we have to go beyond the modern devices and modern concepts to understand the reality. So, reality is in the mantra and the manifested [music] matter is our body. >> Like we call the sukshma sharira and sthula sharira. >> Yes. >> If you're going there. >> Yes.
(07:40) >> And correct me if I'm wrong, the in Charaka Samhita, the the root of each srotas is described. >> Yes. >> And the srotas root of manas is in the heart. >> Yes. >> Hrudayam. >> Yes. >> Is the manovaha srotamsi. Like if I'm that is how it is described. And usually people think that these srotas are physical anatomical channels, but it need not be anatomical.
(08:05) It could be a functional aspect as well. >> Of course, because anatomy is dealing with the matter. What is beyond the matter? Now quantum physics is declaring this. Matter is the manifested form of energy. So how energy is manifesting? [music] Energy has different dimensions. See here in Shambu Surodayam or Shiva Surodayam, there is a very famous and ancient book. It is declaring this.
(08:31) Brahmanda Khanda Bindadya Sureneva Vinirmita Srishti Samhara Kartacha Svara Sakshat Maheshwara. >> Mhm. >> Means >> [music] >> this minutest and the biggest, the micro and the macro. >> Mhm. >> Everything is evolved from svara. >> Sound. >> And Srishti Samhara Kartacha. >> Mhm. >> Srishti means creation and preservation and destruction.
(08:58) All are happening in the svara. Now what is ultra modern quantum physics declaring? >> Mhm. >> Everything is only a vibration, string theory. So when they looked through the microscope and analyzed the matter, they reached to [music] a state where there is no consistency in electrons. >> Mhm. >> First they felt [music] it is molecule.
(09:17) >> Mhm. >> Then they saw no, it is waves. Then they came to know no, it is molecules and waves, waveicles. >> Mhm. >> And finally Heisenberg said, "Ah, no, there is nothing [music] certain." Uncertainty principle. So where are we standing? Then they declared matter has not got any kind of static existence. >> Mhm. It's only a maya. It's an illusion.
(09:40) There There is no material world existing the way we perceive. >> Mhm. >> What Shankaracharya declared, learned from his masters. >> Mhm. >> Brahma satyam jagat mithya. Everything is only a mithya. >> Mhm. >> From which the mithya or from which the word myth evolved. >> Mhm. >> English word. >> Wow. Mithya, myth.
(09:58) >> So, mithya is something is being presented or shown, but the reality is not that. >> Mhm. >> There ultramodern science is reaching back to our ancient [music] conclusion. >> Mhm. >> That's all. So, here we will come to know or we are coming to a conclusion that energy is manifesting as matter which is not permanent.
(10:22) So, if you want to understand the reality behind the manifested form of this world including your body, we have to have a tool of dealing with this which is called mantra. >> Mhm. >> The The link between the energy and the matter is our mind. That is why masters again declared, "Manomayam idam sarvam." >> Mhm. >> Everything is your mind.
(10:46) If your mind is changing, the world will keep changing. Here we come to this conclusion. >> So, you're trying to say that mind is acting like a buffer zone between the non-physical and the physical. >> Not buffer zone. >> Or >> the connecting link. >> Okay, connecting link. >> Yes. >> That is the area where the non-physical manifests as physical and also vice versa.
(11:07) >> Yes. So, if you see energy and matter >> Mhm. >> in the middle, mind is there. >> Mhm. >> So, mind has no static existence. You don't know what your mind is. Cuz mind sometime manifest manifest as matter, sometime it will manifest as energy. >> Mhm. >> When it is manifesting as matter, you are a bhautika jivi.
(11:28) You are body conscious. >> Mhm. >> When that same mind manifests as energy, you are a liberated soul. You have sukshma sharira or atma sharira. There is In that stage, you are infinity. In material world, you are finite. >> [music] >> So, you can if you control your mind, you can be the finite as well as the infinity. That is what we started [music] sthula sukshma.
(11:57) Now, we have the sthula sharira, gross body. This material body evolved from the subtle energy. So, when you become baudika, when you get the baudika bodha, your mind is in material plane, you are a human being or you are one among these countless species in the world. Or you can be the galaxy. You can be the galaxy or the universe.
(12:23) When you move away from that, when you reach to energy level, you can be something which has not got a form. Beyond nama rupa, there is no name and form. What is beyond the name and form? Energy. Energy is infinity. So, when these modern scientists when they looked to through the microscope and reached to the finest form of matter, they saw a wave.
(12:50) When they looked through the Hubble telescope towards the infinity, they saw a wave. There is no difference between the micro and the macro. [music] How many thousands of years ago here in Purusha Suktam, it is written anor aniyan mahato mahiyan atma guhayam nihito sijantu. Even if you look to the minutest or the biggest, you will see only a wave.
(13:19) That also >> [music] >> an illusion. It's only a myth. How you can go beyond it? Start controlling the mind. Chitta vritti nirodha. The moment you learn to arrest the functions of mind, you will lose the identity of duality. That no material plane or infinite plane. You will go beyond this duality, [music] advaita. So, these are all experiential.
(13:47) You can perform or you can carry out your experiments, but all are in the material plane. You know why? Experiments are dealing with your senses. Senses are too limited to understand the infinity. And the mind. People think, "Oh, I I will not believe in something which I don't see.
(14:11) " Yes, before the invention of microscope, Ayurveda and Siddha physicians or experts knew that there are microorganisms before the invention of microscope. How they came to know that? That time, people who were very materialistic, they used to say, "No, no, these are all only exaggerations." Then our masters kept silent.
(14:35) Then modern science, you know, advanced, they >> [music] >> invented microscope. First, they saw, "Ah, the bacteria, we found the microorganism." They thought that was the last. But after some time and a a different version of the microscope, they invented. That time, they saw the [music] same bacteria in a different form. As the device changes, the form of the observed will also keep changing.
(15:01) See, microscope is nothing but just, you know, multiplying the vision, the power of vision. That's all. So, once there was nothing, after some time, they saw different different forms. Which is the real? So, senses never, I know, deal with the reality. That is why sage Patanjali declared that go beyond your senses.
(15:26) Obliteration of the boundaries of your senses will give you liberation. Chittavritti nirodha yoga. So, here this material form [music] and this immaterial form you know sustaining in the medium of mind. So, mind alone cannot explain any one of this subtle and gross form. So, what we have to do >> [music] >> we want to understand the reality you should go beyond the mind and machines.
(15:55) This is here tyaga comes. Parityaga. You have to renounce everything. Many people are misunderstood. Tyaga means give up all your business, family, everything and go back to Himalayas or in the >> [music] >> jungles. No, we have to renounce, we have to give up the attachment of this wrong idea. That through the senses we can find out everything.
(16:25) That rigid attitude should be given up. That is what is [music] called tyaga, not giving up and going back somewhere. It's only a wrong concept. So, the attachment to your own mind and senses must be given up. Then you will be become tyagi. Then you are promoted to a yogi where you make a union between the subtle and gross, material and immaterial.
(16:53) Dwaita, then you will go beyond it. Adwaita. Now, ultramodern science, quantum physics is declaring this. Adwaita is the ultimate reality. A duality they say. Then this masters like or high-level scientists Dr. Rustum Roy, Dr. Hans Peter Dürr, or if you see the lineage starting [music] from Einstein, then Niels Bohr, Werner all these people are declaring the same.
(17:22) >> Mhm. >> A duality. What our masters [music] concluded how many thousands of years ago, Advaita. There are no two. Two things are manifesting [music] or sustaining you only in your mind. When you go beyond the mind, there is unity, which is beyond explanation. Because everybody's thinking of doing experiments.
(17:43) Experiments will be in the domain of mind. >> [music] >> Experiences beyond the mind. >> Mhm. >> This is here Veda and Siddha really come. Veda is the verbal knowledge, experiential knowledge. No, Veda is the knowledge which can be explained. >> Mhm. >> Derived from experiments. Siddha is experiential, beyond explanation. >> Mhm. >> Guruji, you are talking about Tyagam.
(18:06) You know, I I was just thinking there are so many people in North India with their surname as Tyagi. Maybe that is a goal in that name itself to be a to have Tyagam as a part of their identity. >> Of course, that is the qualification [music] for being a human being. Traditionally, it is taught like that.
(18:25) India, not today's India, traditional India, which was spreading around 35 countries. Now it's a only limited part of India. Ancient India was today's India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Sri Lanka, Cambodia Cambodia. Earlier it was Cambodge. >> Mhm. >> Indonesia, Bali. I mean, this is Mauritius, Mauridesha, [music] Iran, some part of China.
(18:48) >> Mhm. >> It was a huge territory. >> Mhm. >> And everybody was by birth everybody was taught to be a Tyagi. >> Mhm. >> Because you bring nothing and you take nothing when you go. >> Mhm. >> So body, bodily form, is a temporary halt. >> Mhm. >> And you are not to stick on that. You have to give up.
(19:10) This is what even Siddhartha Gautama did. >> Mhm. >> See, many people are sentimentally attached to [music] their religion. >> Mhm. >> When I speak with the Buddhists and Sikh people, they are very very stubborn, especially Sikhism. >> Mhm. >> Whatever we say, they will bring their >> [music] >> religion.
(19:29) It's very difficult to even treat them. >> Mhm. >> As far as my my experience [music] goes, then Buddhism. They say, "Ah, we know this one, this one." From where Buddha evolved? He was Siddhartha Gautama. >> Mhm. >> What is the meaning of Siddhartha? Siddhartha. If you analyze the word >> Arth like vidyarthi like >> Yes. >> That's for vidya.
(19:47) >> Siddhartha. You have to attain the siddhi, experiential knowledge, not experimental knowledge. It's called experimental is veda, experiential is siddhi. >> Mhm. >> So, you can explain everything through your senses. That explanation will be limited. So, veda is limited because it is verbalized. >> Mhm. >> It is connected or it is restricted to senses.
(20:13) Then you have to go to veda and I mean end of veda >> Mhm. >> is siddhi. So, like a now I'm drinking a herbal coffee and doctor gave me this. And the doctor asked me, "How is it?" I said, "Yeah, fine. [music] Very good." >> So, what is it? >> Good taste. Then I Again doctor will say, "What do you mean by the taste?" [music] Yeah, it has ginger, it has honey, it has hot water.
(20:32) Everything I can say, but limited. But what experience I got as a taste >> Mhm. >> can I say it? >> Mhm. >> No. >> How can I say the taste which I experienced? That is siddhi. Up to that moment I can explain all these things. That is veda. So, even Siddhartha also the parents gave him the name. You A my child, you should attain siddhi, experiential knowledge.
(20:57) [music] That is why he searched for it and he experienced it. Then he explained. That is what is narrated as Buddhism. So, common name tyagi means it was a tradition in [music] that time. A child you should be a tyaga. >> Mhm. >> You should give up everything. Give up what? Your attachment to the material world.
(21:20) Then you will be a winner. Otherwise, you will be entangled into the material achievements that will give you misery. [music] If you need liberation and happiness and freedom, you should be able to give up your unnecessary attachment to the material world. So, traditional India was the people who were ready to give up. >> Mhm.
(21:41) >> That is why they were so courageous. If I am attached to my possessions, I will be scared. >> Mhm. >> Even though I pretend that I'm very courageous, no. The depth of my heart, I am scared. That's why people are scared of death. Actually, what is death? There is no, you know, permanent damage. If one form of energy changes, it will appear in another form.
(22:05) Energy, the law of conservation of energy is you know, declaring. Even traditionally it is said, "Vasamsi jirnani yada vihaya navani grahnati naro parani." It is as simple as changing an old dress and wearing a new dress. >> [music] >> Gita said. So, death is not a permanent loss. But why people are scared? They don't know the science of death.
(22:26) [music] >> Mhm. >> That is why they are so attached to their belo- belongings. So, if I die, I will lose my parents, I will [music] lose my family, I will lose my business, I will lose everything cuz everything is connected to the body. So, right from the beginning, this tradition taught everybody to be prepared or be realistic that you possess nothing.
(22:47) >> Mhm. >> So, when I understand that, I am not scared of death. So, if I'm not scared of death, I'm not bothered of my possessions. If I'm not bothered of my possessions, who can put me down? >> Mhm. >> That was the strength of this tradition and this country. So, Tyagi is men you know, preparing people right from the beginning.
(23:09) >> Mhm. >> The way suppose somebody is having the name of the Tyagi and right from the childhood people ask, "Hey, what's your name?" [music] He will say Tyagi. >> Mhm. >> Wherever he goes, he is reminding himself that I am a Tyagi. >> Mhm. >> It happened to me really. My real name is Shivadasan. >> Mhm. >> When I was born, I was coal black.
(23:28) You know also I now I think I'm putting some [music] cream and everything. When my mother saw me first, she looked at me. This is what my mother told me. I was coal black and immediately she felt, "Oh, this is the color of Lord Shiva. So, this child is having the same color. So, let him have the name Shivadasan.
(23:45) " [snorts] >> Mhm. >> Dasan means the servant. So, he can be the servant of Lord Shiva. So, when I was growing up in the primary classes, the hajar will come now. The class teacher will take the hajar. So, Babu, yes, sir. Kiran, yes, sir. Binu, yes, sir. Shivadasan, yes, sir. I used to you know, quarrel with my mother for giving me this big name.
(24:10) >> Mhm. >> But later I came to know Shivadasan. I kept on telling that anybody who asked my name, I used to say Shivadasan. That was giving me an impression, inner impression that yes, you are the servant of Lord Shiva. It was a reminder. Then when I reached to the real state of looking for immortality, I became a Shiva yogi.
(24:31) >> Mhm. >> See, sounds can make immense impact. That's what happened in my life. Same way, in traditional India, whatever names were given, our masters were having a purpose behind it. >> Mhm. Guruji, you were talking about senses are limited. >> Mhm. >> And also I want to go to another department.
(24:55) Sometimes when people get too entangled with spirituality, like what is there in this life? We have nothing in our life. Anyway, after death, everything is going to go away. Sometimes they end up having a pseudo sattva, which is coming out as tamas. Like, okay, why should I be ambitious? Why should I get things done? Why should I do this? Everything is maya. Everything is this.
(25:15) So, and there is actually a theory that too much of spirituality actually makes you lazy. But, I have seen this in some people because okay, why should I do this? Because if that person is this is this is karma. They start becoming very uh on one hand, they become very non-reactive. They become non-judgmental, but at the same time they also become very passive.
(25:35) So, sometimes spirituality can also put you into a trap of being very lazy. Is there some truth or what where is that trap and how can we avoid that trap? And the second question, you're saying senses are limited. For sure, we are only a we only perceive through our senses. This is where our entire energy is coming through our vision, through our audition, through our touch, through our sound. All of this.
(25:58) But, on people say that okay, in theory it's so easy to talk about there is more beyond this. But, at the end of the day, you know, my pain is my reality. My suffering is my reality. My happiness is my reality. So, this materialistic world is so strong. It's like a very strong current in a river.
(26:15) And to come out of that, what exactly is liberation? How can we make a person understand what is liberation? And what does it mean to be liberated? And at the same time, when you are liberated, are you able to function in a normal world? >> Actually, this is the fundamental question of spiritual revelation or spiritual seeking.
(26:34) So, the first question you were asking, the spiritual theory may make people so lazy. That's wrong. What is spiritual ideology or spiritualism or the knowledge of the spirit? Knowledge of the spirit is the law of nature. There is a cosmic law which governs everything. >> Mhm. >> If there is a material world, there is a law which is governing everything.
(27:00) Like planets are rotating in their own orbits. Why are they not colliding each other? Because there is a specific line through which they are moving. >> Mhm. >> And some places they are colliding and we are born, we are growing, and we are dying. And external temperature is high, body started sweating. Who is controlling all these things? There is a law of nature which is mentioned as Parashakti.
(27:23) Knowing that shakti, that power of management is called spiritual uh knowledge. The subtle knowledge which is attained through practice is spiritualism. Actually, who is creating a dull guy? Nature. If you're really spiritual, you have no contradiction. You have no discrimination. Discrimination is only in the mind.
(27:46) So, no, I say, "Oh, he is dull." Why he is dull? That means I am not spiritual. Who created a dull person? Nature. This is the problem of religion also. All religions are teaching people or you know, encouraging people, "Do good. Do good." Come on. Can you show something which is good alone? Without bad, how can you come to know which is good? Without darkness, how can you come to know what is day? Without pain, can you experience pleasure? >> The contrast is very important.
(28:17) >> Yeah, without two opposites, your body is not even surviving. Right side is masculine, left is feminine. One is positive, one is negative. Even the light is on because there are two energies, neutral and phase. So, how we can say only one thing is good? That is Maya. It's only a myth. But if you want to go beyond the myth, first you should accept both.
(28:44) This is what Bhagavad Gita, I know, stated this. Samashatruja Mitroja, Tatha Mana Apamanayo. Shatru means enemy, mitra is friend. Tatha, like that. Mana apamanayo, somebody will praise you, somebody will blame you. You should be able to see both same. Sama, when you see things sama, means you are a swami. Swamarami means the person who enjoys or establishing into equilibrium.
(29:09) It's a swami. So, what I'm saying is if you want to be spiritual or if you are spiritual, there is no discrimination. If somebody is born to be in coma or the for the certain span of life, he will be in coma. It's only a material manifestation. Reality is behind it. So, when I see a person who is coming with the fourth stage cancer, I will not see him as a patient.
(29:33) I will just see him, yeah, this is a state of material manifestation. No material world is existing [music] the way we perceive. All modern and ancient science declared this. Then how can I say that there is a disease? It's only maya. So, I train [music] that person to understand that this disease is a maya. The moment he accepts [music] it, this is the time for him to move away from the disease.
(29:58) Here, this is what is called mantra. Many people say mantra. What is mantra? Manana trayate iti mantra. Here also as you said, people are sentimentally attached with spiritual things. Why? They are falling into the limit of their senses. If you want to go beyond the senses, you have to learn what mantra is.
(30:21) That is quantum physics. Can you believe that mantra and quantum physics same? >> I don't think I need to believe it, but but when you look at it, the energy it's a vibration. Like what I'm talking to you, it's a vibration that is reaching you. >> Yes. >> So, I think it's just a the vocabulary of vibration is explained in different terminologies.
(30:38) >> That means the finest [music] state of energy is beyond explanation. That is why even the scientists are you know confusing. First they said particle, then it's you know wave, then wave again, then uncertainty. So they don't know. Finally they said it's a vibration only. So if I keep a glass of water [music] in front of you, your intellect will say it's water.
(31:00) Ah, yes it's water. It's an experience. Your second question is that yes, it's a material experience. Pain you will feel it, but you just focus on the water and think. Analyze the molecular combination of water. That is what That is what is called scientific analysis. In Sanskrit [music] it is called mananam.
(31:20) So once you do the manana, scientific analysis, you will come to know this water is not the reality. It is a profound say result of a profound combination of two gases. That's why it's called H2O. Hydrogen and oxygen >> [music] >> mix each other to form the water. So here manana trayade. >> [music] >> When we analyzed it when we did the manana, that water identity has lost.
(31:44) Trayade means elimination of the identity. Then two gases evolved. Analyze it again, then you will come to know hydrogen and oxygen, combustible and complementing fire, both are fire. So hydrogen and oxygen vanished. Tranam means eliminated, then heat evolved. From where heat evolved? Air. So from where air evolved? Sound.
(32:06) So condensed sound is air. Then from where sound evolved? Light. From where light evolved? Electromagnetic radiation. This is what modern science is saying. Our Kadopanishad, how many thousands of years ago it is written? Indriyebhya parahyartha arthebhyascha param mana manasastu para buddhi buddheratma mahan para. Mahatah param avyaktam.
(32:29) Exactly this is what quantum physics. [music] Indriyebhya parahyartha means whatever you see through your senses, beyond that there is a subtle existence. Ar the epic of Brahma, that existence is manifested or understood through your mind. Manasa to Parabuddhi, beyond the mind, there is a faculty called Buddhi, intellect. Buddhi atma mahan bar.
(32:54) Beyond the intellect, something is called Mahat Tattwam, the totality. Mahad Param Avyaktam. Beyond that totality, Avyaktam, un modified state of energy, electromagnetic radiation. See, where is the difference? So, this This is the relevance of mantra. But, instead of understanding this reality, people say, "Om Namah Shivaya. Om Namah Shivaya.
(33:19) " They're attached to a certain pattern of sound without knowing what it is. And they think that by simply reciting this millions of time, somebody will come and grant Tathastu. This is what they expect. This is the way in the middle time, people explained, wrongly explained. There, the modern community labeled these things as superstitious beliefs.
(33:46) But, now ultramodern scientists, they went through the reality, they said, "My goodness, why should we start learning new things? It's already ultramodern science is already described in different different ways." See, this elec- this one, what is it? String [music] theory. Right from the beginning, when I was introduced to this What is it? Surya Gayatri.
(34:11) I used to ask many [music] people about the science behind it. And I read many explanation interpretations. I [music] was not happy on these things. But, after getting the initiation from the guru, then I did my sadhana in my loneliness, then it became an experience. Then only I came to know my heart was telling the truth, but intellect was giving me different explanations.
(34:36) See like Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha Tat Savitur Varenyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat. I used to chant a lot, but I was not happy. But I was taught that you chant minimum 1 million times then then the murti will be blessing you. I was not happy because where is the murti and why the murti is putting a demand in front of me that you recite [music] this much time then only I will be happy.
(35:03) That condition I didn't like even from my childhood. >> It sounds very transactional. >> Yeah, even murti also conditional. Then what is the difference between an ordinary businessman and the murti? So that was my thought. Then finally I came to know Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha. If I change little these words into translate into English, in the beginning there was a big bang.
(35:26) Bhur Bhuvah Swaha, there was a big bang. Then Maha Visphodanam. Then after that Tat Savitur Varenyam, there was an electromagnetic radiation. >> Mhm. >> It was the flux energy flux, wave pattern. Wave Now we are reaching to that everything is like, [music] you know, it's a vibration. >> Mhm. >> String theory. When a string is I know striken then it will produce a particular vibration that will be an electron.
(35:53) >> Mhm. >> Can be an electron. If it is in a different vibration, can be a proton. This is what modern science is reaching that. So Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha, [music] after the big bang there was an electromagnetic radiation. Tat Savitur Varenyam. Then Bhargo Bhargah, light evolved from that electromagnetic radiation.
(36:14) Devasya [music] Dhimahi, that is what is giving you your knowledge. Dhi Buddhi, connect your intellect with the that light, enlightenment. >> Mhm. >> Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat, then don't be provoked or entangled into material plane. See? Masters experienced all this reality. Then they codified it into different vibrations. Which can go deep into our you know memories.
(36:46) And trigger the fundamental combination of molecular combination of [music] our existence. This is what Anor Aniyan Mahodadhi Mahiyan. Your cell, one cell is containing the total potential of [music] the universe. Where is the difference? So when we recite this one Om Bhur Bhuvah Svaha Tat Savitur Varenyam.
(37:11) So the vibration, it will form a different coordination Sutre Manigan Iva. Bhagavad Gita is saying this. Each and every molecule in this universe is connected each other through Sutra. It's you know the thread of sound. Sura, it's called Sura Yoga. What is quantum entanglement or spooky? Einstein said, what does it mean? Each and every molecule in this nature is interconnected.
(37:40) Where is the difference? So this is what is called mantra. Not the way we are connected [music] to that sentimentally. Oh, I recite only Shiva mantra. Because he's thinking that he is limited to that belief. It never he comes out of that. Many people are really putting themselves into big troubles by emotionally connected to their Murthys.
(38:02) Yes. >> You Murthy you mean like a physical form or you mean okay. >> Physical form means you know mind will make a form. Murthy means Murthayate Iti Murthy. Murthy means triggered or enhanced. If your mind is enhanced, the power of mind is enhanced either through concentration or drugs. See Rasayanam.
(38:24) There is a rasayana chikitsa. There are many drugs in Siddha and Ayurveda which can trigger the mind. So when you use some external things to enhance your mind, mind will take a form. You know, there's a cannabis. Oh, one of my I know patients who was you know, addicted [music] to that. He said, "When I smoke this one cannabis, the first thought what thought I am getting is then that will become rigid.
(38:50) It will not move away. He will be completely into that thought. Mind will be arrested in that thought." That was the reflection of that chemical in his brain. And another guy said MDMA. Recently he was addicted. He came to me [music] for breathing exercise. He wants to come out of from that, but he's addicted.
(39:10) Then I asked him, "How do you feel?" He said, >> [music] >> "After around 2 years of this MDMA consumption, he said, 'Now I know how to handle it. I will make a program. So first thing, okay, I want to concentrate on making some business decisions." Then prior to he will prioritize his things and first idea he will put in his mind. Then he will take the mid drug.
(39:36) That idea will remain him for 3 days in his mind. Not even one thought will come. He said, "Then I will be pursuing it. That thought alone will be there in my mind for 3 days. When this effect of the you know, drug goes, then he is completely out of order. He cannot remember. He cannot He will not have a hunger. So many many side effects. >> [music] >> So what I am saying is so mind can be stuck or controlled either through lahari, bahya lahari, drugs or antarik lahari.
(40:07) It's you can frame your mind through repetition. That is what [music] It's like you know, perseverance. You just pursue one idea. Suppose you want to be a successful person in the business, [music] yes, you pursue that idea. Continuous reminder to the mind. Gradually, that thought will be shifting to alpha activity in your brain.
(40:29) It will materialize. >> Mhm. >> Or you can use a drug >> Mhm. >> to bring your mind into that vibration. But one is that I know degenerating your brain capacity. Other one, inner change is regenerating your inner capacity. The difference is if this inner change become emotionally attached, different kinds of hormones will be produced in the body beyond your control.
(40:56) >> Mhm. >> So, your second question you said, our material experience is reality. But I many times I said material [music] world is an illusion or it's a myth. But again, prana apana your granthi. Granthi means gland. Each and every feeling in our body or in our mind being controlled by hormones. >> Mhm. >> Correct, no? >> Very much.
(41:18) >> If I am not getting adrenal I mean adrenaline in my blood, I never become angry. If there is no oxytocin, >> or serotonin for example. >> Serotonin. So, there is no happiness. So, if serotonin is not there, I cannot sleep. >> Mhm. >> So, everything is controlled by the hormones. That's what master said, learn to control your glands.
(41:44) Prana apana you just manage your prana and apana, get control over it, then you can manage your glands. So, if I am in pain, I can change the production of I know this hormones which trigger my pain, I can stop it. Suppose I am angry. I know my adrenal gland is producing more adrenaline. If I learn pranayama and shift my attention and control my this uh, adrenal gland, I will not have that kind of anger.
(42:15) So, everything can be managed. Physical feelings can be managed by controlling the glands, and the glands glands can be controlled by controlling the breath. >> Mhm. >> Through controlling the breath, you can control your mind. Yada prana, tada mana. >> Guruji, this all this knowledge that you're saying, it's on one hand it is so it feels like, "Wow, it feels like now I have a tool to come out of certain patterns that you're suffering with.
(42:42) " Or maybe people have different pattern issues that are keeping them stuck. For example, some people could be having greed issues, some people could have craving issues, some people could have addiction issues, or some people could have a emotional toxic traits. And many of them, you know, when when sometimes when you see patients having you could see the symptoms is a reality of their thought patterns.
(43:07) Clear example is if you take many of the hormonal issues or obesity or >> Yes. >> even allergies, even some of the autoimmune conditions, you could actually [music] draw the like the match the following. Their thought patterns, their emotions, their habits, their consumptions, and their lifestyle, and it's manifesting in their body.
(43:24) >> Yes. >> So easy to connect that dots. >> Yes. >> Without fire there is no smoke. >> Smoke. >> So, there is definitely a connection. Now, how do we use this knowledge? And people think I have to use willpower, I have to do a lot of effort to change. Sometimes people say some of the most beautiful transformations happens in an effortless manner.
(43:48) But for our logical mind it's so difficult to comprehend that we think that I have to break that wall, I have to break that that pattern, and it's going to be so hard. And, especially if you are a smoker, you know, sometimes we get chronic smokers they need like one or two packets. And they say, "There's no way I can stop it.
(44:06) " And the same people some situation happens and they give it up like that, and they don't go back to smoking at all. And on the other hand, you'll see they break their head and maybe instead of smoking one full packet, they end up smoking like four or five and then they say, "No, I cannot give up." And then they feel guilty and that guilt triggers them to smoke again.
(44:24) So, how to use this wisdom that you're talking to come out of this chakra view? How do What What is that starting point? >> Very simple. >> Now, it sounds very simple. >> [laughter] >> We should shift our attention. >> Mhm. >> Actually, people are concretizing their idea of giving up >> Mhm. >> by thinking of it. >> Mhm. >> That is the problem.
(44:44) Suppose I give you a magical pen. Just imagine. I give you a pen from my yogic [music] sadhana. I got a pen and I gifted you. Doctor, you can take this. You write any name because of this magical power, that person will immediately appear in front of you. >> Mhm. >> That is the offer. But one condition, your mind should be focused.
(45:03) >> Mhm. >> Before you write, don't think of a monkey. >> Mhm. >> Then I give you the pen. When you can use that pen? The moment you think of forgetting the monkey, your mind is remembering the monkey. So, this is the problem. Now, if I want to keep your mind away from the monkey thought, I should tell you that, "Yeah, before you write, you think of a lion.
(45:23) " Then you keep thinking a lion and just [music] write. You can do that. So, this is what we should apply to these people. Instead of telling them, "Oh, or this person, I should give up I know this smoking." "I should give up smoking." is triggering the feeling of having a smoke. >> Mhm. >> That's the problem.
(45:42) Instead of that, he should replace that thought with something else. There must be something values. This is where the traditional values and sentimental values will come. I'm sentimentally attached to my [music] right from the childhood to my grandmother. So, we were seven children. So, I was taking care of my grandmother. Mother was very busy.
(46:02) So, even now I cannot think something which can go against my grandma's wishes cuz I was I'm sentimentally attached [music] to her. So, right from the childhood there must be some values. That's where the God concept comes. I was taught right from the beginning there is there are gods. They don't like if you do something wrong.
(46:23) Now I have a logical explanation. I I am dealing with the that dimensions, but still the words of my father is reverberating in my mind. So, if I do something which my father doesn't like, what I will do? For following the father words of my father, I keep thinking about it. So, suppose I have the habit of smoking.
(46:46) Instead of thinking I should give up smoking, I should tell myself my [music] father was not smoking. My father was doing these things. He had these qualities because of that lifestyle. So, I'm adopting that lifestyle which was not having the habit of smoking. So, I'm filling my thoughts, filling my mind with these kind of thoughts.
(47:12) Naturally, the tendency of triggering the memory of smoking is [music] vanishing. This is what we should do. Instead of telling that I should stop this. No, I must do this. Many people say, "Oh, you have to get rid [music] of your weakness." No, you have to be strong. The moment you think of getting rid of the weakness, mentally you are weak cuz you are reminding that.
(47:38) Otherwise, on that part you should say, "I should do some exercise to make my muscle more strong." Oh, I have to give more challenges to my inner organs. So, like [music] that process, that kind of thoughts because mind can shift into all places. Where you focus your mind, that thought will gain more strength. You are what you think.
(47:59) >> Mhm. >> If you think that, yes, I am having good hormones, [music] you will have good hormones. Then, it doesn't mean that you are not having bad hormones. It will be subsided. >> [music] >> Then, good hormones will give you the effect what you want. >> Mhm. >> So, managing the mind is so technical. We must know it.
(48:22) This is what I do with my patients. >> Mhm. >> When they come, I never speak of diseases. They come with autoimmune Most of my clients are expelled from other hospitals. Where medicines fails, >> Mhm. >> mind can win. That is the reality. >> Yes. >> So, when they come to me, I will you know, talk about only enhancing the immunity. >> Mhm.
(48:43) >> I never bother about even the symptoms. Cuz for me, there is no disease. If there is disease, other side of the disease is ease. >> Mhm. >> And somebody can say, "Oh, I don't have any problem." I say, "Yeah, problem is the first side. Is you know, possibility." If you don't have problem, you don't have a possibility also.
(49:04) So, without opposite, nothing is existing. So, we have to handle the middle path. [music] That's what even Buddha also taught to his students. Learn to have the activation of the middle path. Middle path means the activation of spinal cord. We have solar, heat producing, lunar, cooling. But, we have Agni Nadi, Surya Nadi, Chandra Nadi, Agni Nadi. So, Agni is neutral.
(49:31) Sometime it will be manifesting as solar energy. Sometimes it will be manifesting as the Chandra Nadi. >> Mhm. >> So, both are enhanced by the subtle fire, Agni. >> Mhm. >> So, when we reach to that level, we will handle both. This is what the method should be applied for activating any kind [music] of healing process. >> Mhm.
(49:53) >> So, whatever it is, whether it is a hormonal problem or mental problem, everything is lying on the enhancement of immunity. >> Mhm. You're You're saying that, you know, there was a part about the logical part and the dimension with the God. >> Mhm. >> You're saying something like that which I'm dealing with.
(50:13) Can you just give a few words about what is that experience? >> There are millions of dimensions which are influencing [music] our material existence. >> Mhm. >> Just for example, healthy ladies >> Mhm. >> young ladies, they have menstrual [music] cycle. >> Mhm. >> Actually, what is the gap between two cycles? >> Mhm. >> Probably 28 days.
(50:36) Sometimes 10 two or three days ahead or like the fluctuations are there, but technically we can say 28 days. >> Mhm. >> Why is specific 28 days? >> Mhm. >> Kuche indu hedu pratimasa arthavam means moon will take 28 days, 27 [music] {point} uh some days it will take to make a full circle around the earth. >> Mhm. >> Within that days, a life will be produced in a healthy ladies' body.
(51:04) >> Mhm. >> If it is not used, body will discard it and start producing new. So, the power of moon is not connected to that creation or not. >> Mhm. >> It is connected. And who is controlling the rotation of moon, >> Mhm. >> sun, and the whole solar system is influencing of the positioning of the moon also. It's all magnetic part.
(51:29) If something goes wrong, they will collide each other. >> Mhm. >> Second thing, people who are mentally disturbed, we call them lunatic. >> Mhm. >> Why? Because our moon energy is directly connected to our mind. People where these people were taken care of called lunatic asylum. A person who is having asthma, full moon day and new moon day, you can see there will be some disturbances on him.
(51:57) So, our breath and mind, even the blood circulation is directly connected to the power of moon. >> Mhm. >> And modern science is also stating one point. In our body, each and every function can be controlled by controlling the breath. >> Mhm. >> Except the menstrual cycle. >> Mhm. >> And actually, this is the concept of Lord Ayyappan.
(52:17) You know, people, ladies who are having active menstrual cycle are not allowed to go to that temple. >> Mhm. >> Actually, the science is this, but there are many explanations. That is another subject. But, what I'm saying is all these God concepts are different energy dimensions having intricate control over us. So, this is direct explanation.
(52:41) And moon is controlled by sun, sun is controlled by another galaxy. [music] That is the again, the fundamental theory of our astrology. >> Mhm. >> We have Navagraha means nine types of hormonal changes always happening in our body. These nine hormonal changes are being controlled by nine planets. Yes, sun also considered as a planet because we look from Earth.
(53:06) That is why that also counted as a planet or an energy source, we can say. It's not a planet. It's a magnet It's a huge magnet which is influencing us. Even our cell is connected [music] with that in that deep dimension. Then, if you consider this solar system as a planet, it is being controlled by other galaxies.
(53:26) So, nine grahas are controlled by nine planets. Nine planets are controlled by 27 other constellations. It's not a single star. It is Nakshatra Samooha. Constellations are there. These constellations are controlled by other galaxies. So, how far we can go? Masters said, if you continue like this, extend your senses outward, it's called anavastha dosha.
(53:48) " >> Mhm. >> You will reach to a conclusion where your brain cannot or mind cannot go. >> Mhm. >> There is no [music] logical explanation. That is why you will They said you will lose yourself. >> Mhm. >> Instead of going outward, you come back. Withdraw your senses. Withdraw your eyes and fix it inside.
(54:07) Withdraw your ears, fix it inside. And five organs will meet one point in the brain. >> Mhm. >> That is what is called bindu. Bindu shivo raja shakti. >> Mhm. >> That means when you reach to that point, bring your all senses back. Withdrawal of the mind in yoga. Patanjali Maharishi is saying this. Yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara.
(54:30) >> Mhm. >> Four things. Yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, physical disciplines. Then >> [music] >> mental discipline starts with pratyahara, withdrawal of senses. When you withdraw your senses and fix it in one point, there you will experience a black hole. >> Mhm. >> You will fall into a an ex- >> [music] >> you know, an eternal darkness, black hole.
(54:55) What is the color of Lord Shiva? Black. Coal black. Where big bangs are happening. So maha sangha, sangha means just com- combination or involution. Bring your organs back, senses back and fix it in one point. There you will come to know the reality. So here, once you reach that level only, you will come to know there are different dimensions including the planets [music] and other constellations, different dimensions in the senses where our intellect never understand what is happening in front of us.
(55:29) Just for example, if I tell you that there is a person standing here just behind you. Can you believe it? You will not believe. >> Mhm. >> Maybe one schizophrenic [music] person came to you and he is saying that always one guy is standing here and he is talking to me. It's very difficult. As a doctor, will you treat him or not? >> Maybe you have to.
(55:46) >> You have to. Because you know he is experiencing it. But as a yogi, I cannot call him diseased. Yes, he is a yogi, but I am a yogi. So what is the difference between a yogi and a yogi? When I change my breath and I control my breath and change my hormones, I can see different dimensions. >> [music] >> I connect myself with the different dimensions.
(56:09) This person, due to some chemical changes in his brain, spontaneously is happening. It is beyond control. He is experiencing different dimensions. Once that experience goes beyond control, we call him a yogi, schizophrenic. [music] But the guy who is creating that, you know, hormonal changes and he is experiencing the same under control is called a yogi.
(56:31) That is the only difference. But if we take this yogi and a yogi who are having the same experience and connect an EEG machine and take the brain wave, you will see the same pattern. >> So one is like a conscious creator and other is an unconscious >> creation. Reaction. Yes. >> If I have to sum it up. >> Yes. >> And you feel that conscious creation comes with your It starts with your awareness on your breath.
(56:56) >> Yes, it's a creation. See, like a samadhi. What is samadhi? It is out of body experience. It's a created death. Samasthiti. Sam adhisthiti. >> Oh, so it is not sam adi. Like you become one with the adi, like origin. >> If there is an origin, there is an end. The reality doesn't have an origin and end.
(57:18) Again, this is the problem of our mind. So sam in Sanskrit called the reality. Sthiti [music] means you just establish there. Then you do You are not existing there, but something which is beyond your explanation. That is called advaita. There we cannot discriminate this or that because infinity cannot be two. That is why it is beyond comprehension.
(57:40) So, samadhi in the sense samyak siddhi. >> Mhm. >> So, here this person is controlling the breath and he's one day he's stopping it. If the breath is stopped more than 2 and 1/2 minutes, you will experience brain death. >> Mhm. >> If it is stopped more than 3 minutes, you will have heart death according to modern science.
(58:00) But through systematic practice, we can comfortably grow go beyond 6-7 minutes. So, in this practice, we will have near death experience. That is quite common or out of body experience. >> Mhm. >> That is what is called Videha state. >> Mhm. >> Vi-deha. Without body, you can remain in your consciousness. >> Mhm. >> So, some people who came out from ICU, they mentioned I mean they wrote their [music] experiences that they were in a an endless tunnel they were going and finally they came back.
(58:34) That time they saw uh people were crying, doctors were standing there. So, they came out of the body and saw [music] what's happening. Actually, this is what is near death experience happened through rogam, disease. >> Mhm. >> Beyond their control it happened. But a yogi is creating that. He will create a disease by uh stopping the oxygen supply and he monitor it and he will come out of the body and by practice.
(59:02) >> Mhm. >> It is consciously done. That is what is near death experience which is called Kundalini awakening. When you get the real control over Kundalini awakening, it will pierce the chakras and the soul, the consciousness will come out. That is what is called samadhi. >> Mhm. >> Or Unmani, Manonmani. So, when your mind is going to that dimension, you are a yogi.
(59:24) You are experiencing out of body experience. Once it is created, you are a yogi. Once it happened, you are a rogi. That is the difference. So, these things are Everything is If it is under control, it's a yogic experience. If it is out of control, it is rogic experience. One is disease, one is liberation. If you are in the middle, you are a bogi.
(59:50) Yes? So, you are middle means anytime you can be a rogi or a yogi. This is what is happening. Rogi, bogi, and yogi. >> I'm curious, what is the meaning of bogi? >> Bogi means the material enjoyment. All are bogis. The person or the identity or the consciousness which is connected to boudika lokam.
(1:00:13) The plane of matter. He is a bogi. >> Like boudas. >> Yeah, pancha boudas. Pancha boudas are the fundamental molecules for the whole world. Yes. In that plane, he is a bogi. When the pancha boudas out of balance, creating problems, a rogi. >> And one thing that I understood is, you know, there is a lot of power in our thoughts, in our ability to be aware of our breath.
(1:00:39) And also, you are making a lot of clarity between what is sthula sharira and sukshma sharira. And one thing that I really connected is I was thinking the mind is like a buffer, but it's not a buffer. It's actually the >> link >> link between the non-physical and the physical side. Like the sthula and sukshma.
(1:00:58) And then, I was taking down notes. The word myth actually comes from mithya. It's a quite a And we also have this word called mithya aharam. Like when you consume things that are not aligning with your good energy, it creates a lot of amritwa. And then, you are talking about the powers of mantra, and you are also talking a lot about Gayatri mantra.
(1:01:18) And in the next episode, when we discuss, I want to go a lot more into that, you know, where the thoughts and the physical body manifestation is happening and somebody's coming with that pain. How do you help them? So, those who are listening, please stay tuned for the next episode and we are going to deep dive into that ability to decode how the thought manifests as in the body and how we can rephrase that.
(1:01:38) And then you're talking about how the the more aware you become with your breath, you become a conscious creator and when we are completely lost and unconscious, we become that unconscious reactor. And that is where the rogi and that is where the yogi and in between where the bogi comes. So, fantastic and now I look forward to having open up the new conversations in the next episode.
(1:02:00) Thank you so much, Guruji. Awesome. Thank you.
