(00:00) These are the five places where I will tell you how to do the massage and why we have to do these massages and how they are going to be helpful to us. Hi, my name is Dr. Vive. Welcome to my YouTube channel. Today we are going to learn about lymphatic massages. The five most important places for lymphatic massage, how it should be done and why we have to do it.
(00:25) We have to understand the concept. You might have heard a lot that lymphatic system is important, lymphatic massage is important, we have to do lymphatic drainage. What is lymph? Why we have to do a massage of it? Let's try to understand in today's video. See, as the blood flows in our body, the same way lymphatic circulation also works in our body.
(00:51) Blood has its own circulatory system. Blood has heart also that works as an pump. So blood has an force by which it flows throughout our body. On other hand, lymphatic system doesn't has an organ like our heart that can provide the pumping pressure. But lymphatic flow is also important. So how does this lymphatic flow happens? It happens by contraction and relaxation of our muscle, by movement of our body and by breathing.
(01:24) That's why exercises, movements, breathing exercises, pranayyamas, these things are also very crucial if you want good circulation of lymph in your body because lymph is dependent on this for the circulation. Now what is this lymph and why do we need to bother about its circulation? See lymph is a liquid that flows in a lymphatic system.
(01:48) As for blood we have arteries and veins. For lymph we have lymphatic vessels. Lymphatic vessels are delicated tubes spread throughout the body that transports lymph away from the tissues. Now what is this lymph or the liquid composed of? Lymph is a colorless watery fluid. It carries white blood cells, proteins and cellular waste.
(02:10) And because of the proteins and the white blood cells that's the most important part lymphatic system is very very important very crucial to maintain our immunity. This lymphatic system further has lymph nodes also. Lymph nodes are small beans shaped glands. The work of these lymph glands is to filter the lymph and destroy harmful organism.
(02:32) These lymph nodes filter out bacteras, viruses and acts as a defense network. They also filters abnormal and cancerous cells because they are housing infection fighting white blood cells also known as lymphocytes. Lymphatic system also helps in fluid balance. It collects excessive fluid that's the lymph that leaks from the blood vessels into tissue filters it and returns it to the bloodstream and that's why they prevent from tissue swelling.
(03:04) So if you don't want swelling in your body, tissue swelling, then your lymphatic system is important. It is going to reduce the swelling. So now as you have understood how important our lymphatic system is and what it consists of, now let's talk about the massage. Before moving forward to the massage, I will suggest to jump up and down for at least 10 to 20 times and just free your hands off.
(03:29) Why to do so? As I've explained you for better lymphatic circulation muscles have to work. So when you will do these movements your lymphatic circulation will be better. That's why just do jumping up and down 10 20 times move your hand your lymphatic system will work better. Now we can move to the massage. How to do massage? First point is near to the clavicle.
(03:54) So start from above the clavicle. First do a tapping of this area. Little bit of tapping and then do the massage from upside down direction. Round circular motions you have to do and wherever you feel stiffness focus more on that area. First day when you will do you will feel lots of stiffness but with the time you will feel that stiffness has reduced.
(04:17) So do a light massage of this area from up to down circular motions and after completing the massage tap again. So this is the first area. Now moving towards the second area that is our armpits. This is rich in lymph nodes. So even in the neck there are lymph nodes but one of the richest area is armpits. So over here on one side first we'll focus.
(04:43) First tap and then start doing circular motions. Massage over here 10 to 20 times as you are comfortable and then again tap on this area. Then move to the another side. The same thing you will repeat on another side. First tapping, then massage, then tapping. This is the second part. Now the third area. This is our belly. Over here.
(05:07) You don't need to tap. You can just directly move to the massage. Massage at least 10 to 20 times in a circular motion. As the clock moves in that motion, you'll be doing the massage. And then very light tapping will be over there. And that's it. That's done. Then a very important area that's the groin area over here. You don't need to tap a lot.
(05:32) Just a light tapping and then start doing the massage. This area is also very rich in lymph nodes. Even massaging over here will be very helpful to free your hips. If you don't want to suffer from hip joint problems or back issues, even the knees issues, the massage of this area is very important, do a good massage of this area.
(05:56) You can do just by moving hands up and down or in the circular motion. Do it for 15 to 20 times and then light tapping again. Now moving to our final area that's behind the knees. Over here also there are lymph nodes and massaging over here is going to give positive effects to your knees also. So before massaging tap properly over here after tapping do massage in circular motion at least 15 to 20 times and as you have finished with the massage just tap. That's it.
(06:30) This is what you have to do. If you will just focus on these five areas then also you are going to get good lymphatic circulation. Yes, there are many other points also for lymphatic circulation. If you want, you can do on those areas also. But these are the most important one that you should not miss. Lymph is important.
(06:49) Lymphatic circulation is important. I hope now you have understand how lymphatic circulation happens. Try it out.
