“అందం” మరియు “సౌందర్యం” రెండూ ఒకదానికొకటి దగ్గర సంబంధముండే పదాలు అయినా, వాటి అర్థాలలో సున్నితమైన తేడా ఉంటుంది. ఈ తేడా తెలుగు సాహిత్యంలో, భాషా వాడుకలో కూడా స్పష్టంగా కనిపిస్తుంది [1][10][14].

### “అందం” అంటే ఏమిటి

“అందం” (Andam) అంటే సాధారణంగా కంటికి కనువిందులా ఉన్న రూపాన్ని లేదా దృశ్యాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది.  

ఇది బాహ్య రూపానికి లేదా ఆకృతికి సంబంధించిన పదం. ఉదాహరణకు — ముఖం, వర్ణం, కళ్ళు, శరీరాకృతి మొదలైన వాటి సమతుల్యత లేదా ఆకర్షణను “అందం” అని అంటారు.  

అర్థం: అది కేవలం దృష్టికి అనుభవమైన ఆహ్లాదం.

### “సౌందర్యం” అంటే ఏమిటి

“సౌందర్యం” (Soundaryam) అనే పదానికి విస్తృతమైన భావముంది. ఇది కేవలం బాహ్య అందంపై మాత్రమే ఆధారపడదు; మనస్సు, భావం, నడత, లావణ్యం, హృదయ సుగుణాలు అన్నీ కలిపి వ్యక్తమయ్యే లోతైన సౌందర్యాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది.  

ఉదాహరణకు — ఒక వ్యక్తి ఆలోచన, మాట, ప్రవర్తన, కరుణ మొదలైన గుణాలు కలిపి వచ్చే మానసిక, ఆత్మీయ అందం “సౌందర్యం”.
