(00:00) Uh today I'm going to share a profound technique to understand your mind. So without understand your mind, you will never understand your life. The biggest mystery everyone is having right now with them and in them is their mind. If you're sad because of the mind. If you're happy because of the mind. If there is no mind, absolutely still.
(00:27) But everyone wants to experience stillness. But uh we have to understand what it is. For that we need a method to have cup of tea. You need a cup. Tea has nothing to do with cup. So cup is the ground to put the tea in it. That becomes that works like a handler. So all of a sudden it's very difficult to understand the life.
(00:53) Through a methodology, through a technique you can get the glimpse of it. So today I'm going to introduce a beautiful word to you. Um in in Japan in Zen they use this word called zazen. So za zen there is zen philosophy. There are zen stories but zazen is something very unique. Remember one thing in this world man has created thousands of meditation methods.
(01:24) In them one or eight meditations or one or 112 meditations methods are very famous. There is one famous book the book of secrets or vigyanabatundantra the meditation prescribed by Lord Shiva to Parvati. So all these things are there. So whatsoever the meditation centers are teaching they are all methods. But there is one method which is not created by man is zazin.
(01:56) This is not created by man. There is no authority over zazin. Zaz anapanai only human being does. Pipasha human being does. Dynamic meditation human being does. Shambhi mudra human being does. But zazin done by everybody. Not probably the human but every dog, every cat, every animal, every entity does. Jazin.
(02:21) Zajin simply means zah and zen. Zaha means sitting. Zen means meditation. This is a literal meaning but it has inner meaning also. For example, zah means sitting. What physically but it actually talking about mind sitting not the physical sitting. So if you apply zazen physical level you have to sit and meditate. If you apply on mental level you don't have to sit med because mind sat mind settled down.
(02:55) So zazen has two meanings. The second meaning actually the original meaning. It is very profound. So z means sitting and zen means meditation in English. But if you uh convert that into a phrase, sitting quietly and doing nothing is the essence of zazin. What a cat does sitting quietly and doing nothing.
(03:20) What our dali or jogi and bogi does sitting quietly and doing nothing. What a patient and patient on the bed before his death 2 days before what he does just lying down doing nothing. So this is the original state of human being. So to practice zazin we don't have to practice that is zazin everything you have to practice zazin means no goal zazin means don't try to calm your mind zazin means don't try to stop your mind stop your thoughts then what are you doing sitting quietly and doing nothing like there are two people standing on
(03:56) the road one person is a traffic constable the other person is you traffic constable is doing something he is controlling the traffic the other person is looking at the traffic. So be like that person. So you are not here to control everything. Sometimes there are few things they will go out of your hand. Accept it.
(04:18) So it's a very powerful there is uh in I have written a book called dot. So in that book I have uh written about one particular person his name is Shunya Suzujiki. So he says uh there is one statement the goal of meditation is not to control your thoughts. You see so all meditation methods fell apart. You are not here to control your thoughts.
(04:40) Who the hell are you to control your thoughts? But to stop letting them control you. He said that. So you don't have to control your thought. If thought is there make sure you are not working in the base of thought. Thought should be like your chapel. Wherever it is required, whenever it is required, you use it. But you should not bring chapel to your head. Then chapel is ruling you.
(05:05) Slipper is ruling you. So this is a beautiful method anybody can do. So now I'm asking a question. You ask this question to yourself and I'll wind up. Have you ever tried doing absolutely nothing? Because from the day of our birth till today, everyone is saying to us to do something, achieve something, manifest something, create something, go after it, run, create.
(05:36) Nobody is saying don't do anything. So to not to do anything you have to sleep or you have to paralyze or you have to uh get a disease or you have to get what it is you have to run a fever otherwise it is very difficult for anybody to sit quietly and doing nothing. So every day at least for some time sit quietly and doing nothing at that time don't scroll your phone don't watch a movie don't think about the future don't think about the past don't think about your family members even though thoughts will come
(06:13) don't pay attention if someone is doing nonsense we don't pay attention now someone is swimming just adjacent to our building there are screaming we never keep into who the hell are they screaming it's there you you are listening to but you are not paying attention. So if you really want to understand the essence of life, do nothing because that is your original state and don't practice it, understand it.
(06:41) Don't control, don't try to calm, don't do some activity. Just sit like this. It's very useful. So anybody can practice jazin whether it is student, whether it is a household, while working, while walking. So the real meaning by and by by and by you understand that you are not the doer at that moment the mystery will be uh unlocked till then wherever you are sit and do nothing at least for some time every 1 hour 5 minutes don't do anything actually I don't say to anybody but I do this every 2 3 hours I'll go to my
(07:27) bedroom the First thing within minute I'll slide down. I just uh put a behind me and I just sit like this. I'm not thinking anything. Maybe phone will be adjacent to me. Actually I'm not with the phone. They are around me. So anybody should do it. So from years years I'm doing this. I am not meditating in the sense of the world. This is existential meditation.
(07:54) Everyone must and should do. It is only language. Everyone must and should give it a try because there is nothing you are not doing anything. So one more important point don't control your breath. Don't count don't chant. If don't count, don't chant. Don't control. Don't look. Then what the hell are you doing? You're sitting quietly and doing nothing.
(08:20) Very powerful. So if you think you won't understand, you have to really do it. So if you really practice it whenever you feel restlessness you will slowly slow down and you start experiencing your breath normally everything will become calm and quiet on its own accord. So don't postpone. Do it today because you are not doing actually anything.
(08:49) You don't need a guru. You don't need a book. You don't need any suggestion. You don't need any advice or prescription doing sitting quietly and doing nothing. The most remarkable idea. This is the only meditation and the original meditation of existence. All meditations are very superficial and partial and it's helpful to only few people.
(09:09) Sadhakas and sadas. This is not sadhana. Hence there is no saddakha. There is only sadyam. If you understand do it. Otherwise take it is and watch a movie on Netflix. Tata. Bye-bye.
