Transcript:
(00:00) Have you ever wondered how a tattoo is removed? I mean, aren't tattoos supposed to last forever? >> Tattoos also fade over time, so they don't really last forever. >> Well, a tattoo is only permanent because the ink particles are too large for your white blood cells to eat up. But if you use a special laser that can penetrate your skin and reach these large ink particles, >> This is called a Q-switch or picosecond laser.
(00:27) >> It can actually break them up into smaller chunks. And this allows the white blood cells to eat them up and remove the tattoo. >> Now, usually you need five to 12 treatments. Why so many treatments? Because tattoo ink is layered and each time you hit a different layer, you can't hit all the layers cuz you would damage the skin.
(00:48) And then also with each treatment, you need the skin to heal for a few weeks before we start doing another treatment. Also, different colors need different lasers to attract them. So, the hardest usually get rid of is green. It's the worst color. The easiest usually is black.
