Title: 7 Brutal Ways Women DESTROY Their Marriages and Their Husband
Author Name: Nicki Crowder
Description: Marriage usually doesn't fall apart because of one argument or one bad day. More often, small patterns of behavior build up over time until respect, trust, affection, and emotional connection begin to disappear...and sexless marriage comes instead...
In this episode, we're discussing 7 brutal ways women can unintentionally destroy their marriage and push their husband away, from constant criticism and disrespect to controlling behavior, emotional withdrawal, lack of appreciation, and refusing to communicate in a healthy way...
This isn't about blaming women for every marriage problem. Both husbands and wives can contribute to the breakdown of a relationship. The goal is to identify destructive patterns early enough to understand them, take responsibility for them, and start making meaningful changes.
A healthy marriage requires humility, communication, respect, accountability, affection, and a willingness from both people to look honestly at their own behavior.
If you're a wife who wants to understand why your husband may be becoming distant, frustrated, or emotionally disconnected, this conversation may help you recognize patterns that are damaging the relationship.
And if you're a husband struggling with these issues, understanding the underlying relationship dynamics can help you communicate your concerns more clearly instead of allowing resentment to build.
Marriage can be incredibly difficult because two people bring different personalities, experiences, expectations, wounds, and communication styles into the same relationship.
Without intentional effort, those differences can gradually become sources of conflict.
My goal with every episode is to help people understand relationships more clearly and make healthier choices within their marriage.

(00:00) Let me be honest with you. If your wife and your marriage is falling apart, there's a very real chance you're the one tearing it down, not him. You. And I say that as a woman who's done the damage. I figured it out since then, but most women haven't. Most women have no idea they're doing it.
(00:19) They think he's the problem. He's not. These aren't bad habits. These are marriage killers. And by the time you notice the damage, he's already checked out. He's not angry anymore. He's not fighting. He's done. That's what happens when a man gives up. He goes quiet. So, here are seven ways women destroy their marriages and the man in it.
(00:41) If you recognize yourself in even two of these, your marriage is already in trouble. Number one, you compete with him instead of building with him. Most wives treat marriage like a power struggle. Everything becomes a contest. Who works harder? Who does more around the house? Who sacrificed more? And she keeps a mental scoreboard that he doesn't even know exists.
(01:04) He didn't marry her to compete with her. He married her because he wanted a partner, someone on his team. The moment she turns the relationship into a competition, she's telling him they're on opposite sides. So, he stops showing up for someone who's playing against him. Number two, you talk about him like he's one of your children.
(01:25) Women laugh about this like it's cute. Oh, I have three kids, two real ones and my husband. She says it at brunch. She posts it online. Her friends all laugh. Meanwhile, her husband heard it or someone told him. And something in him shut off. When you reduce a grown man to a joke, to something you manage and clean up after, you strip him of his dignity.
(01:47) And a man without dignity in his own home is a man who stops caring about that home. You didn't marry a child. Stop talking about him like one. And if you think he acts like a child, ask yourself what you did to make him stop trying. Number three, you punish him with silence and call it space. Women know the difference between needing time to cool down and freezing someone out to make him suffer.
(02:12) They just pretend they don't. When she goes cold, stops talking, gives one-word answers, walks out of rooms, she knows exactly what she's doing. She's making him feel the weight of her disapproval without having to say a single word. That's not composure. That's control. And when he finally asks what's wrong and she says, "Nothing.
(02:34) " That's not space. That's punishment. A man can handle a hard conversation. What he can't handle is being shut out of his own relationship over and over until he just stops asking. Number four, you vent about your marriage to everyone except him. Her mother knows, her best friend knows, her co-worker who she's known for 6 months knows, the girl she met at a party last weekend somehow knows.
(03:01) Everyone has been briefed on every argument and every flaw. Everyone except the one person who could actually do something about it. And now he's walking into rooms full of people who've already judged him based on her worst moments. He can feel it. He doesn't know the details, but he knows something shifted. People look at him differently.
(03:20) That's what happens when you turn your marriage into entertainment for other people. He never got a say in any of it. Number five, you make everything about how you feel. His mother is sick, he got passed over for a promotion, he's stressed about money. And within 5 minutes, the conversation has become about her. How his stress affects her.
(03:42) How his mood makes her feel. How she's struggling because he is not emotionally available right now. That's not support. That's selfishness with a nice voice. She's not sitting with his pain. She's redirecting it back to herself because she can't handle not being the center of attention, even when he's the one going through something.
(04:02) A man doesn't need his wife to fix everything. But he needs to know that when something hits him hard, she's not going to make it about herself. Number six, you hold the relationship hostage with threats. Maybe we should just get a divorce. Maybe you'd be happier with someone else. I'm done. She drops these in the middle of an argument like they're just words.
(04:25) They're not just words. Every time she says it, she's telling him this whole thing is conditional. That everything he's built could disappear the next time she gets upset enough. The first time a man hears that, it cuts. By the third time, he believes it. And by the fourth, he agrees. You trained him to.
(04:44) Every bluff taught him that this marriage is temporary. Eventually, he's going to take you at your word. And then she's shocked. How could he give up on us? He didn't give up. She told him to leave so many times that he finally listened. Number seven, you forgot that he's human. This is the one no one talks about. Wives expect their husbands to be providers, protectors, handymen, emotional support, decision makers, and strong at all times.
(05:11) And when he is all of those things, she barely notices. But the moment he falls short in any one of them, suddenly he's not enough. He's tired, he should push through. He's overwhelmed, he needs to man up. He's sad, that makes her uncomfortable, so he should deal with it somewhere else.
(05:29) She married a man, but expects a machine. Men carry things they never talk about. Not because they don't want to, but because the one person who should be safe to talk to has made it clear that his struggles are an inconvenience. So he carries it alone, quietly, until he can't. So what now? If you watched this and felt defensive, sit with that for a second.
(05:52) If you saw yourself in even one of these, that's not a reason to feel ashamed. That's information. And what you do with it is the only thing that matters now. You can keep doing what you've been doing. You already know where that goes because you're probably already on it. Or you can decide that he's worth more than your pride.
(06:12) Not because he's perfect. He's not. But because you made him a promise and right now you're breaking it. Let me know what you think. Did I miss anything? Drop it in the comments.
