(00:00) We are discussing about how we can remain young because we all would prefer Botox, we have plastic surgery, we have makeup, we have all these things because we like to be as young looking as possible. It is not a medicine. If you want to detox any of your organ the first thing is the one beautiful sentence in Hindi in Indian language that we have is see our face is very important including the tongue we call tongue as why fried
(00:46) food a bad word as you grow older and older you need more fat sometimes when you are working on sometime is the biggest problem that I see which people ignore Unfortunately, I met somebody in Usuzbekistan, this guy and he said I saved 20 minutes every day. I said how? He said I don't go to the if you have a bad relationship you will get.
(01:11) Our Indian habit of eating at 9, 9:30, 10 is what gives 90% of all Indians this hot meal. One of the main causes for inflammation is also if you want to remember something, the best time is sleep happens between 10 and 2. No, no. He can sleep up to 9, but then request the sun to come at 9:30. [laughter] [applause and cheering] I used to be an alcoholic and a smoker and with bad lifestyle, sleeping late and bad food habits.
(01:53) So when I had this swelling under the eyes, they said it's your liver and or your kidney, I don't know which one, they said is bad damage because of alcohol. So is it one of the uh indicators? Is it true? Yeah, it is true. You must know that if if you insult the body I mean some organs or something they give you warning if you are working in an office and if you don't do your work properly uh the your boss will call you and give overall uh if you don't attend do something then he will write in consent >> memo. So this way body also gives you
(02:28) the memo and if you neglect them then it turns into hepatitis or fatty liver something like that. But it doesn't happens in a day or two. Ah. So uh the darkness under the eyes you said is also because of a liver problem. Yeah. But it's also stress. See our face is very important including the tongue. We call tongue as a mirror.
(02:53) Mirror of what? Mirror of digestive system. So if you see we don't see only the pulse. We always ask you to show your tongue a like that you pronounce it. And then we can get an idea whether it is pink in color or it is white coated. What he is telling me there are different colors also on the on the tongue. Sometimes it is bluish.
(03:15) Sometimes it is become black but mostly it is white coated. That gives us idea what has happened to your food or whatever you have consumed whether it has gone out the waste product or it is remaining somewhere. Amma. >> Ama correct. So he has pronounced one word which is very common in our ayurvea which is amma. A m aama.
(03:44) Amma means undigested. I will not call it as a food. Yesterday I told you that we also need some emotions like love sharing our knowledge. So amma can happen here in the head also. You know many times I see the people that they they don't know how to share with the people their sorrow as well as their happiness.
(04:10) If I become first if I'm successful here I want to tell my friends I want to tell my family that I enjoyed here then I feel happy. So this is a stress and that can change. So amma is at psychological level and armor at this level also. But isn't it true what I like to say that when it's there amma here the garbage is here it converts itself to the mind also and the mind also becomes tamas >> I agree it's a vis it can happen but mostly my experience is first it happens here and then what happens if your mind is not happy depressed what what do you
(04:48) mean by depressed depressed means contracted yesterday I have shown that if you are happy hi how are you like that you will But if you are having depression then you will walk with your shoulders ahead. You will not see to the people. So you are closing closing at you are not properly respirating also.
(05:11) And then your secretions are not proper. Let me tell you you are having a good food at homely prepared either by the mother or the wife but still you can't digest. Why? Because your mind is not okay. And that's why the secretions of gastric juice, hydrochloric acid, pancreatic juice, even saliva. I will tell you saliva is also because mouth become dry.
(05:36) So for liver detox, is there like one herb or one concoction that will help us people like me who were drinking so much or smoking so much to flush the liver? Is there anything that Ayurveda prescribes in terms of something which is simple which everybody can go home and do it is not a medicine.
(05:57) If you want to detox any of your organ lungs or the heart or the liver the first thing is fasting it is called as langan. Lhan mean change the food. Again I'm coming to armor. What is liver? Liver is a custom and immigration officer. Yes, I'm using this word specifically because when you come to my country or when I go to your country first I have to show my passport and everything and and the immigration officer will see whether I'm good eligible to enter all our food which goes here first doom drop in the stomach afterwards it goes into
(06:38) the small intestine now the first part of small intestine is called as diodenum diodinum has a C-shaped Okay. Like this. Like this. Like this. Who? Who is there in the center? Pancreas. Head of the pancreas. You know that head of the pancreas is there and then the pancreatic body and the tail like that.
(07:02) So the food goes and stay in the cube with the passport with the passport and then she will the liver will decide what is good and what is bad. She will try. It is the best organ to detoxify. That is her job. neutralize the toxins. If you are drinking alcohol, if you are eating fried food a lot, then she has a lot of taxation. Even you are eating more carbohydrates.
(07:30) Ultimately, most of them it is in excess then it is converted all of you know that it is converted into glycogen. It is it is deposited in our body. I have one confusion about fried food. If the oil is healthy, if it is good quality oil, not some stupid monossaturated oil used again and again again and again.
(07:56) Isn't oil good for the olation of the body to create that ecosystem which where there is no dryness? Isn't it good? Why fried food a bad word? What a nice question. I really congratulate you for asking me. I actually want to express the first thing I want to tell you that the as you grow older and older you need more fat. What becomes less in your body is you become dry. You have the wrinkles. Yeah.
(08:21) You are not able to concentrate. Sometimes you have the tremors also. So this is vata imbalancing. And to balance it we need fat actually. But then what is a good fat and what is bad fat? That is his question. And he says that if the oil is good, why not this oil? Fried things are what? Why bad? Because when we fry something, we make molecular changes in the fat.
(08:50) It becomes trans fat. Now when I say BJ that we need fat, we need fat original like olive oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, whatever you are using in the kitchen. When it is pure, when you add it to the salad or when it is uncooked or during the preparation of the dal also we have something like that but that is in a different form.
(09:18) It is not so much overheated. And when you talk about the fried food in the hotels, it is horrible. Yeah. Huh. Even in the home also when it is good I telling you that it is converted into trans fat. And what is trans fat? Molecular fat which is not able to go inside our body tissues. It blocks. It blocks.
(09:48) And this type of the blocking happens in the in the vessels. And think about the coronary arteries. If you are doing this again and again and again, then the vessels are for what? For the free flow of blood and if it is narrowed sometimes when you are working on some [laughter] suddenly you have a severe pain and you go into the shop like that.
(10:13) If such type of block is here in my varicose veins on the calf very dangerous it becomes like a thrombus and then it can go and cause the pulmonary thrombosis also >> deep thrombosis >> deep thrombosis. So fried food is not good. Occasionally if you have the onion bhaja I can understand. >> I love vada. [snorts] >> Huh? But then batawa vada is very nice.
(10:38) I allow him to see the batawada. I see it. >> You see it? [laughter] That's a seafood. Huh? Okay. So, basically what we're talking about, the main topic today is aging because we all would prefer [clears throat] to be as young as possible for as long as possible. That's why we have Botox, we have plastic surgery, we have makeup, we have all these things because we like to be as younglooking as possible.
(11:09) Now the main thing is if you look at a leaf which is new which has just come out which is which is like a fresh leaf it has a shine it's very beautiful to look at and as the days pass that leaf starts drying up. First the tip of the leaf will become brown and then slowly it'll become darker and darker and more and more brown.
(11:33) Finally that whole leaf becomes brown and wrinkled up and then one day it drops dead and falls down. Now when we are young our skin is shining we have a glow you know we are like that shining leaf and as we age there's a drying process which shows itself manifests itself in wrinkles. Uh it shows in the dryness of the skin the dryness of the colon.
(12:00) So once we understand from the ayurida and naturopathy perspective from the nature care perspective that you need to keep oiling the body which is why the fat that we talk about the ghee the homemade butter and all those wonderful oils that we are blessed with in India especially coconut oil sesame oil all these wonderful oils that we have if you know how to use it castor oil is so magical I put it on the navel every night And I also take some castor oil in the night, mix it with coconut oil and I put it on my face. So I have this on my face. I
(12:38) have castor oil or sesame oil on my navel and then sometimes I also put oil on my skin. My wife calls me tail dukan. She said, "I feel I'm sleeping next to an oil factory." Which is fine. But the thing is the whole process of aging. Now, anybody who's more than 40 years old, you have to understand this whole process of aging, how it affects you, affects your health.
(13:06) And if you want to be as fit as possible, as as beautiful and young as possible, then you have to keep olating your body and making sure that there's enough good quality fat going inside the body. Okay? And that's where your solution for arthritis, eczema, psoriasis, all of these diseases are nothing else but the drying up of the colon, constipation.
(13:28) Right? So what I want to share with these people also what people who are going to watch it on YouTube later on is the biggest problem that I see which people ignore. Unfortunately, it's shocking how people in ignore constipation and how dangerous constipation is. I met somebody in Usuzbekistan this guy and he said I saved 20 minutes every day.
(13:52) I said how? He said I don't go to the toilet for 20 days. By the time I finished talking to him he was crying because I made him so scared of his health issues and what kind of cancer and diabetes and all those health issues that are about to come. I think there are some 208 diseases that come from constipation.
(14:12) Right? And in India we have something called cayamchun uh we have is gol and then we have some other alopathy laxatives. That's not the solution. It's not even a temporary solution. It's a solution. So sir for constipation what do we tell people? What is the how dangerous it is? I want to hear from your mouth. Okay. And what is what is your full analysis an the breakup of constipation? what it happens, how why it happens, how dangerous it is and how to cure it.
(14:46) Bijay has started this with pronunciation of aging and now at the end he's coming to constipation which is one of the problem at aging. So is it okay if I spend some time on aging? Yes. >> And how you can have a good aging. Yeah. >> And then I come to the constipation which is one part of that. >> Perfect.
(15:09) See first thing I want to clear that aging doesn't starts at 60. Oh jamana. So when my grandfather was there at my age he was reluctant to climb these staircases. He need ly or something to stick in his hand. But now you see many people they are very happy they travel here and there. So the aging starts at 80 because our lives and other things have started.
(15:38) We are becoming more aware of our health. That's why you are here for the course. So if this is happening at 80 is there is anything in Ayurved to have a happy aging? Yes, there is a separate branch like a geriatric like Vijay is presenting yoga ashtanga yoga. We also have the ashtanga aayur kaya bala graha uranga shala dstra jara jara means old age.
(16:10) So there is a separate branch for that. Now we are in November. November, December, January, February. These are the days for rejuvenation. And who is coming here to help you? Amla. It is not available all the 12 12 months but now it is available. So you can use it. What is amla? Amla is not a medicine. Amla is a fruit.
(16:40) And if you it is vitamin rich. C vitamin is abundant in it. But you will ask me it is present in lemon juice also. I drink everyday morning. I had a pinch of sugar, pinch of salt and I squeeze the lemon. I drink it. Excellent. It is not me and Ayurvedic doctor necessary to tell you that have a nice aging to nourish your tissues.
(17:05) Chavang all of you know the story that there was a rishi. He was very old and after eating and doing some panchakarma he has become very young. So like chavantra all of you know about trifala thrifala. So we can prepare the rasayana according to your constit constitution for the vata people pitha people kafa people and brahma rasayana dhhatri rasayana like that there are so many things if I want that if you are coming for the concentration brahi rasayana so there are different herbs according to the different tissues urat dal urad dal the
(17:45) black gram we prepare the dosas etc actually this is very good for the muscles You know that for the snu we are discussing about how we can remain young and the best way to remain the young is to do yoga and along with that abhyanga that is that is the word BJ has used abha is oiling to the complete body acharity that means the ayurvedic text say that you are supposed to apply it on a daily basis.
(18:22) That time the time was there so it was possible. But now we are running for our work. So we don't have a time but then you can select it. Say for example today you can apply it before going to the shower to both of your hands. Enjoy it. Applying means not like this. You should spend 10 minutes. You are doing so much work with your fingers in between also here then on this areas and etc.
(18:49) Spend at least 10 minutes for your hand who is helping you all the time. Another hand like that. Tomorrow you can go to the lower limbs. Then after that you can apply to the face and to the head and to the neck etc. And then ask your wife or the partner. You can sit like that and she can apply onto your back. Fantastic. You know I I have seen that you have a very excellent couple yoga.
(19:15) Why not have a couple of That is also possible. Yes, it is real. >> Love abanga. >> Yes. [laughter] Yeah. This part is very important. Touch spers. You know you are listening, you are hearing but the best is spersia. I'm very very sad to tell you that when we travel we see the old people and they they are connected with their son and the daughter on father's day and mother's day no once in a I I tell them don't send the bouquet pay to one of the mure and send a massages to his father or the mother let them have a massage there is a
(19:59) tremendous power in spersion I will tell you uh even you say what we do if I want to appreciate something BJ fantastic you have done such a nice work now I'm putting my hand here only but that sensation goes everywhere that sensation is received in all over that that is necessary that is the power so I will request you I will request you those who are elderly people when you go and meet them usually we don't Touch.
(20:31) No, please touch and see the face. Mama, how are you? Hand hands on the shoulder. Hands on the back. [clears throat] She will be thrilled and she will start crying. That is the power of abhanda. And abanda is not necessary everywhere. Sushuta Bijay I want to tell you that he was knowing in future the people will not have a time.
(21:00) So he has given a shortcut to the complete body massage. Shira shanau he has given three organs even you apply to that you will get satisfaction of shira is head shana means ear and pada means feet. So even you do the massage to the elderly or to yourself partner just to the head to the feet and you can you can put little oil.
(21:28) Now there is a little problem for the people to understand how we can put the oil into the ear. I have another solution. You should not literally put the oil into that. We have the cotton buds. Okay. for the year. You can dip it into the into the oil and just squeeze it here and there. That much oil is also enough. Even you do this once or twice, many of your problems will go away which are related externally and at the psychological level.
(22:02) Now the second part he is telling is constipation. Constipation has many aspects. It gradually comes especially with the vata type of the people then it is strong but for the pitha and kafa we can manage it with black resins also I'm first going with the food then I will go to the herbs the simple thing is black raisin kali monoka how much everybody has his own if they are here put them how much they come in your feast that is your dose.
(22:40) What you are supposed to do before going to bed or when you wake up early in the morning, you can take a bowl, you can put them and put warm water, let them soak for 20 to 30 minutes and then you chew them between 5 to 7 at the sunset time. See the 45 minutes before the sun early morning what is called as Brahma Mhorta that is also a vata time.
(23:06) Ozone is more so that is a good time for massage and the evening time is good internally. Now he mentioned about castor oil and different types of oil. I was surprised when I was working in Spain and Portugal and Italy because that is the area of olive oil. I was olives are very we are familiar with that.
(23:33) But then I received he asked me which type of oil the same class was going on and he asked me the which oil you are asking me whether it is the olives collected in the moon at night or during the day the sun olive oil or the moon olive oil they have these types and there is definitely a difference. So ida and pingala all of you know that the left nostril is cooling the right goes to the sun pingala.
(24:05) So accordingly I just see the respiratory type and accordingly we give the moon or the sun oil. So I will not say sesame oil because that has been written in my book that I will not tell to the people in south India that I will not tell the people in Purwanchal or in Himalayan area. The oil which is available in that area which is usually used in the kitchen that is the best oil.
(24:33) But what you are not supposed to use is refined oil because refined means what? It looks nice but chemicals uh do the refining. No. So we are familiar with the cold compress the natural oil. So you can use any oil but it should be naturally compressed oil. Internally after that the another thing is banana. I ask the person to have a ripe banana.
(25:03) Cut it into [clears throat] two parts. Apply either the ghee very nicely little warm ghee apply it on that then eat that again in the evening time. Okay. >> Evening uh before sunset >> between 5 to 7 that is a vata time. >> So banana is okay to eat in the evening. Oh yes yes yes yes 5 to 7 because the why we are using it our destination is colon and it will take time to go over there and what has happened why you are having the constipation because this part is becoming more dry.
(25:40) Now is it because of the food? No. There are many reasons my dear friends. The first reason is colon is directly connected with your psychological status. If you have a bad relationship, you will get constipation. It is not only related with the age. It is not only related with the type of the food you are eating. So the same thing happen if there are many imbalances they come together and then this happens. So I will not jump on.
(26:18) I will not jump on castor oil. I will not jump on cayam churana. Actually the I am against this type of medicine in the beginning. Why? Because it is the job of the colon to expel the thing and if you put the what I will say if you are riding a horse and if you put the whip on him then he will not run without the whip after some time and then today he is taking half spoon.
(26:48) Next month he need one spoon and afterwards two spoons are also not working. So if someone is coming to me and if he says that now I have to take the two spoons I was working very well. How what can I do? I will not stop that because his colon is habituated to that. So I will just change the anup that means the catalyst the with which we send it inside.
(27:17) So I will ask him okay you are taking the cayam chuno for my sake you can take it mix it with the oil and take that and then he will say yes doctor it is working then after 15 days I will ask him that instead of two will you please add only one spoon of cayam chura and then still he is working after 1 month I will ask him just to take the oil no cayam chura so this is like a person who is smoking or who is drinking there are two ways either I have to stop it or I have to reduce it but as far as the colang is concerned the reduction is
(27:58) better one of the most important things that people should understand as for the ayurida and nature cure is the concept of oil ghee good fat and most importantly abhyanga so what I do when I wake up in the morning is I take sesame oil and I put it all over my I just love oil. I just love oil. I love massages.
(28:22) I take three massages a week minimum from a massuse. But whenever I'm not going to do that, I massage myself and all like he said all the joints have to be massaged. When I had arthritis, I went to the most expensive the best orthopedic surgeon in India and he said sorry not curable. I said so you are the best.
(28:43) What is your job? What are you charging me? 6,000 rupees for half an hour. What are you doing? I can prescribe you a medicine that will make the pain less. It will what he says control the arthritis. So a diabetic doctor will tell you I can control your diabetes. I cannot cure it. All of these alopathy doctors they keep talking about controlling.
(29:02) Only ayurvea will show you the path. The way I at the age of 36 got arthritis and finally cured it with the help of the knowledge of ayurvea. Only Ayurveda has that power to actually take it out of your system because Ayurveda is only science that understands why it happened to you in the first place. The alopathy doctor will not even try to address that issue that were you smoking, were you having too much tea and coffee? Were you not drinking enough water? Were you not having enough fat? Were you not having good butter, good quality butter?
(29:35) Were you not having enough ghee? Iopathy doctor doesn't give a about that. He cared about the fact that now you have a disease. Now you're a new client and you have to be remain a client for life. That is their concern. And I'm really frank and very blunt about it. And a lot of alopathy doctors hate me for it.
(29:53) But I don't care because genuinely when I had arthritis, this is what they told me. When I had eczema, my legs were black. This was so ugly that I had to wear socks all the time because it used to bleed. There used to be pus coming out from here. And I went to the most expensive the most celebrated skin specialist in India.
(30:13) He said you have to take steroids to now just make sure that the blood stops coming but it will never get cured. You have to stop the spread all over the body. And what's what they scared me with my face, my hair, everywhere it was going to spread. But again with the help of Ayurveda and the knowledge and the understanding of what I was eating, what I was doing wrong, what I should be eating and how what my lifestyle should be, I was able to cure even my eczema.
(30:40) So eczema, anything specific you want to say? Because a lot of people keep writing to me on Instagram and YouTube about eczema, eczema, eczema, of course, is connected to arthritis. They're both brother and sister, right? So what it is like that's the most powerful thing that we can tell them apart from good lifestyle sleeping on time is the biggest medicine for example good lifestyle good food eating on time good quality food nourishing food pranayyama what else you want to say which is what we call in India Raman like a really powerful
(31:11) healer for arthritis and eczema he is talking about a very chronic type of skin disease is dermatitis, arthritis, I mean the eczema etc. So let me explain you how it happens. It's a combination of bad guys. They are coming out now. Okay? And don't expect any magic medicine. Medicines are magic but you are already coming late to me.
(31:43) Now this ugly thing that you see which you want to hide it is a strong imbalance of pitha and bata etc. So how this has happened? It has started here in the stomach. First hurry, worry and curry. This is the origin of eczema. I will tell you. See, hurry means hurry means you are supposed to sit on a dining table with your family and eat happily.
(32:17) Chew for 32 times because you have 32 teeth. Enjoy that. Correct. Then it will get digested. And now what the people do? They are software working somewhere. They buy the lunch and they are talking on the phone. Hi, how are you? And they're walking on the street and they're having the lunch. Or if it is I'm in the home clicking the television and something happening there, accidents or spy or something and eating.
(32:50) What is this? Your mind is not there. The secretions are not proper. In fact, your food is not digested. Again, I'm coming to armor. So, you have spoiled your pitha. So, again, I explained to you before this pitha. Sometimes you get acidity because of that acidity. Acidity is not common symptom or presentation. Sometime people say that they have heartburn.
(33:15) So, they feel here. Sometimes the people say that it comes up. Sometimes they say that I I feel to vomit then I drink the salt water and throw it away and then I feel better. Actually I welcome these people those who have this problem and they throw it away it is good that it is not spoiling your body but if you take anti-imetic medicine and then you allow this pitha pitha to go inside and I yesterday I mentioned during my talk on that like an terrorist this is a bad guy this pitha is not useful to digest because it's its power of digest has
(33:57) gone then it goes somewhere else and reestablish that is eczema. Okay. So what I have mentioned you how it becomes bad where it becomes bad here out of which I have just mentioned first hurry. So if you're not eating correctly if you are eating very hurriedly this second is worry. What is worry? Worry is stress.
(34:27) Again your mind is not there. Everybody has a stress. But allow the stress to come here and allow him to go out because he is not your friend. Don't keep it with you. It is not helpful. It is making it is spoiling you. So worry also makes the pitha bad. And lastly the curry. Curry means spicy. The spices are good but to the limit.
(34:59) Spices are good but to the limit. If somebody says that I'm not hungry then wife or mother they feel bad and they they prepare something like bhaja or something and then they say yes now I can eat. Actually when the body is telling you that you don't have an appetite and energy doesn't comes with the food. Energy actually comes by fasting.
(35:26) Energy actually comes by fasting. Because what is fasting? Fasting is say I'm a manager of a company who is producing something like uh the shoes etc. And our shoes are very popular and that's why we have many orders but our employees are limited. So I'm able to prepare that much of shoes but I I thought that the orders are coming I should uh receive the order and then I make a burden on my workers then the quality of the shoes goes down and the workers go on strike and the same thing happen in our body. Okay. So worry is
(36:08) also not good. Curry is also not good. Hurry worry and curry. So if somebody is coming to me with uh anything I have to go back like a detective and try to understand why otherwise if I just give him some ointment or the oil he will be happy for some time and again last word I will utilize for such things we don't recommend any medicine in the beginning for any chronic disease we request them to go through the panchakarma.
(36:40) Yeah, >> pancha karma is one of the best treatment to remove the toxins internally. It is nothing but oiling and servicing of our body. And if you service your body, the mind's servicing is free. When your body is happy, automatically the mind also become happy. Again I will tell you in your home especially you drive a car don't you send it to the garage for servicing and oiling then why don't you service your own body you are using for so many years I'm just asking once in a >> once a year once a year >> okay so u on the topic of aging we've
(37:27) covered the importance of fats oil homemade butter not butter homemade butter uh ghee and that I also in that also I preferred the homemade ghee. The second subject on aging I want to talk about which has helped me personally tremendously is fasting because the one beautiful sentence in Hindi in Indian language that we have is in English we say nobody dies out of eating less food.
(38:03) People die because of overeating. So the problem with us is we have this concept in our head that we must have breakfast, we must have lunch and we must have dinner. Now even the problem with the dinner also even if you do these three things supposing is the quantity and especially the mother beta ora bit ora beta ora eat more you know and and the body need only so much food for example and that too your dinner should be ideally between 5:30 to 6 maybe 6:30 our Indian habit of eating at 9 9:30 10 is what gives 90% of all Indian this
(38:41) podill right and pod belly. Obesity is nothing else but walking around with your own Whatever toxins were supposed to come out, they're still part of the body. So you have to hate it that you have 1 in more weight. I have lost 8 kilos in 2 months. Not by eating less, not but just by controlling the time period of my food.
(39:06) what time I'm eating my I have now made breakfast and lunch into a brunch at 11:30 12 I have one meal and then I have my dinner at 5:30 now what that means is that by the time I go to sleep I'm hungry you will be shocked you'll say but how can you sleep hungry you will be shocked how beautifully I sleep when I'm hungry and how badly now I sleep when I have any food in my stomach if I have eaten late because of a party because of you know you know any reason I will walk in my building like a madman until I've digested all the food
(39:42) then I will go to sleep. So the second concept after understanding butter ghee oiling of the body internal and external is fasting when you eat less when you do especially something called the akadashi fast. When you fast on akadashi days which happens twice a month uh that fasting and that also there is a system to fast not only that one day you have to eat fruits the half day before akadashi day and half day later when you subject your body to this rest now imagine my my staff reaches the office at 10:00 and I tell them go home it's a
(40:18) holiday today they start dancing there so everybody's so happy now imagine the same thing for your body suddenly I don't give food to my body burdening it with all the time. A the other thing about Indians breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime in between they see any chi, any samosa, any you know biscuit, whole day is going on. There's no rest.
(40:42) There's no rest to the system. And that causes so much stress to the body. It causes so much you know is just not needed. Ive always said in my classes on kundalini yoga also that the garbage in the stomach converts to the tamas in the mind. The tamas in the mind converts to the tamas in the aura and the tamas in the aura creates the negativity and the negative energy around you which converts to tamas in your life.
(41:09) So fasting it might even sound unbelievable the days I fast I have magical business deals happening in my life like I make more money also. I have I have a very happy day from every point of view. It's so beneficial in so many ways that it's shocking that the whole world should not wake up to it.
(41:30) Is why some people say they get a headache when they fast and what they should do. Actually fasting is such a big subject that we have talked for two days right from morning 9 to 6 on Saturday and Sunday only on fasting. Such a big subject it is. Uh first thing in India fasting is very different and that is not fasting. Actually for today breakfast have you enjoyed that tapioca kit? Sabudana kuri on fasting day we prepare sabuhana v.
(42:02) We prepare sabuhana kuri which is more heavier than nor. [laughter] So actually according to Ayurve what is scientific fasting that I want to tell you first and Ayurve says how we eat for [snorts] breakfast or lunch or dinner either we have bajaran we have javar we have gum I mean I will talk in English uh we have the rice we have the wheat and we have something else like dal uh lentils so these are the different three types of the grains that we are eating.
(42:41) On fasting day, you can choose anyone. Okay? So, if I take the rice, I will not take the dal. I can have the buttermilk. I can have something like that. If I prepare the chapati, I will I will just eat the Indian bread. Nothing else. This you can do for the whole day. No problem at all. So, this is a dhana.
(43:05) Now another fasting people ask BJ that uh how can we stay on only vegetable or vegetable juice or the fruit juice or on the fruits etc. The best fasting without salt. This is the best fasting I will tell you. There are different types. The best is you will not eat anything which has salt. Then you can eat unlimited.
(43:33) You will not you will not be able to even though we are putting salt we are putting in everything even in the salad even in the soup even in dal rice wheat everything we put it just take that out and you will be normal another thing is you can stay on only vegetables it is possible you have the cauliflower you have the different types of the goats you can use them you just steam them okay I will suggest you you can steam You can have a big bowl.
(44:05) You can put that. You can have the peppermal. You can add the the white butter or the ghee or oil whatever. Add little pinch of salt etc. Make it tasty and eat that. No problem at all. Sometimes see I I take the example of fire that we made yesterday also the chits that we put it into the campfire. How we start the campfire? We have the big wood, dry wood we have.
(44:37) But if we lit it, it will not start. Initially, we have to have a dry grass and then we put the dry grass. Then we have the little more stain and then we can go to the main thing. Our food is like that. See the the big l the wood that we prepare the fire that is our main meal. But what we are suggesting what is fasting? Fasting means we want to take you to the grass.
(45:02) So when you are fasting you become hungry again and again. Every after two hours you feel having something eat it. No problem. I've given you one example of uh vegetable. So you can prepare the vegetable you can eat that after 2 hours if you feel hungry. If you now you feel I don't want that uh uh that vegetable again. I want something else.
(45:27) Put it into the mixer. Prepare the some soup like that. Take that. So like that. But you stay on that only. If you want to stay on smoothie, no problem. For the whole day, you can have the smoothie. If you want to have on soup or something like that, you can do that. So the fasting has different types with the people those uh those who cannot tolerate.
(45:54) Many time I ask my clients that if you don't get the food what will happen? Hungry. Then some of the people I will say I can manage. Those are the cuffer dominant people. Pitha people they say I become mad my head will behaving I have something. So different type or sometime they have the tremors they feel uneasy sometimes they collapse also.
(46:15) So these are the strong pta people. So the fasting should be different for constitution wise also. You should ask the question to yourself can you tolerate that otherwise you can change it. Buttermilk is one of the thing I'm not talking about curi the I'm not talking about I'm talking about buttermilk there is a lot of difference between the buttermilk and that buttermilk is very nice for those people who have a problem in the colon.
(46:43) I'm talking about the friendly bacteria which are present over here. So in India it is customary that after completing the food we have a glass of buttermilk fresh buttermilk which is good. >> Not at night. No. >> Huh? >> Not at night. >> Not at night. But if you are drinking at night that is permitted in summer.
(47:04) >> Oh >> that is permitted in summer but otherwise you can have it during the day. So the fasting is actually good as we enjoy fasting of work on sometimes Saturday Sunday or in our country half Saturday and complete Sunday like that. So if we are having fasting for work why not for our body it is strongly recommended.
(47:30) It is strongly recommended you try whatever is good for you. Okay I have a question. Is it good to graduate and go towards a fasting uh discipline where instead of vegetables or fruits is it good to go to the level where you don't eat anything at all maybe only water or even niral fast what is the is it is it like a graduation and is it is that better actually what he is talking is already in practice in India but for that you your mind you should be courageous Yes, I'm talking about my wife.
(48:08) >> [snorts] >> She has done 16th without water also the Mondays you know that for the Lord Shiva Sora Somar what we call it as so she has done the the fasting for 16 Monday without water also and that time we were teaching in Rushikesh in Paramata asham she was teaching all the day but still he was she was able to do this all depends upon your ability so in the beginning you can in the beginning if you have not done any time I will suggest you that you can do it for 12 hours for 12 hours you can try that what
(48:46) he suggest is good if you are able to do that nothing like that gradually you can increase it what I'm talking strong fasting without water also so the one of the other benefits apart from your health that we talk about aging it's also how strong it makes you mentally It gives you the there's a word in English called metal. M E T L E.
(49:13) It gives you strength of mind. It makes you more focused and gives you strength of character. Makes you more powerful in terms of your aura. Really beautiful. When I was in Kerala >> and I had my eczema and all that, they had put uh leeches on my body. It's it's so powerful as a practice in Ayurveda. So uh first of all what do you have to tell them about how powerful it is? How to use it? Who should you who should use it? You know uh any information first I want to salute the leeches because they have helped me a lot. I
(49:49) have done research on leeches for 3 years when I was doing my postgraduation and he's allowing me to talk about leeches. Leeches is hudinaria. The family leech is hudinaria. They are present in muddy places. >> Okay. And they are very slippery. Their respiration is through their skin all over the body.
(50:12) And they have now we have the upper jaw and the lower jaw. They have three jaw like this. And they on their tail they just stay like that. Uh and then they their three jaws they pierce inside. But it is very microscopic. I will tell you what is there in their saliva. So they pierce like that and then then they start sucking your blood.
(50:42) It is not that they suck only the pure blood. It depends where you put them. So he is coming to me for the ex eczema where I know that his blood has to be taken out physically from that area so that the healing will be faster. then I cannot use the syringe. You know that our vessels have three types. Those that you see here the blue one these are the bigger one.
(51:09) So whenever I want to take the blood sample usually what we do we take it from here because we are able to see sometimes we use it from here we can see but afterwards they become so minute then we call them as capillary veins venules from there to take the blood out is beyond the limit of the human beings there come the leech now you will be surprised if I tell you that how many teeth we have >> 32 True.
(51:37) >> They have 256. They have 256 teeth. And their saliva has such a solution which doesn't allow blood to clot. Herodine anti-coagulant. So when they when they I put them here they start sucking and from their saliva automatically in that area [snorts] the the blood doesn't clot and that's why they can constantly take that out.
(52:11) Now I decide how many leeches I'm supposed to apply depend to the sorry depending upon the area one square mm for one leech. So if he has this much I will use 10 to 15 leeches over there and then I will cover them with a small piece uh of gauze which is dipped in water and gradually when they are doing their job I will put some water on that.
(52:41) when they are going inside he will just uh feel little bit like a pin nothing more and afterwards he will not have any pain or anything like that. Now you will be afraid of 15 15 leeches. How much blood he's going to lose? One leech maximum suck 5 to 10 ml. Okay. So 10 into 150. Do you know how much blood we donate when we donate blood? 350.
(53:17) So the 150 is nothing. Remember this. We have to explain to the client otherwise not client but the parents of the client they get shocked and when he we we apply this then afterwards again when they go away the blood is oozing out we say it is good let it come out for some time so that is another 50 cc so I'm taking 200 cc of blood and asking him to come next week and he's waiting for the next week to come because he see the result instant result.
(53:55) So this is emergency medicine and why I saluted in the beginning they have given lot of money to us. Yeah because people are having magic results because of the leeches they are fed up of their problem. I'm not only talking of eczema. Sometimes the white patch lucodma vitiligo it is present on a girl who is young now going to the college or supposed to be married supposed to be married you know and if she has something over here or somewhere on the exposed area then in such persons also to convert it to allow the melanin to come and have the skin normal leeches
(54:35) are useful. I think this will be the big lecture. >> But tell me um um there are so many different kind of leeches for the blood sucking for ice there's only one se specific type no or any leech is good. Now this is also a good question that there are leeches of different size and different types also. So what he says is correct.
(54:59) Even there are some poisonous leeches also and that has been written there are different names of the type of the leeches. So we collect the leeches which are useful for the human beings and how we keep them usually we keep them in a water which is decllorinated. So if I want to keep them in a water I will keep the water in a jar for one day.
(55:23) So the chlorine will go away and afterwards I will put them and they will move here and there here and there and when I want to use them I will pick them up. I will use them and afterwards we do forceful vomiting to them. >> So whatever the see now she has become bigger one. Okay. So I will take the turmeric powder little bit and I will put her mouth little bit touch it.
(55:48) So she's and she's not making noise. I'm showing you [laughter] and I will hold on the on the tip on the tail and then gently without disturbing her I will gently allow her to eliminate that and then I will put it into another jar. I will not use her for one week but again then we can use it again for the same person.
(56:12) >> But can you for the same person but can can do should I be worried that I go to a clinic that they will use your leech on me and I can get your infection? No, you can carry that bottle with you. So you are not worried. >> No, no, no. This is his question is valid question because I was very concerned what happens to the blood and then if I take that leech if I get that problem.
(56:33) >> No, we got that. We got that problem. So what we have decided what we have done the leeches that have been used to him I give that bottle and ask him to take >> but how do I know when I come to a to a clinic suppos supposeding you I don't know you I go to some other clinic called Champa clinic and if over there they say now these are the leeches for you how do I know that in the morning they didn't use uh with for somebody else and put it in the turmeric and do and then give it to me [laughter] how do I know that
(57:03) so if I want to give medicine to someone what I do I prescribe the same thing I can do I can give you the address from where I can get them and you can bring them fresh from the stop that is also possible so see the fear I always say that the fear factor he has a fear that if they have been used by the others correct so fear comes when there is no clarity so what I'm doing I'm making clear that I will not use from my clinic or some somebody else.
(57:40) If you have a uh if you are suspecting that they have been used to the others, you can bring it from the market. There are specific places where we get them. >> Okay? >> But they only suck out the bad blood. They never take out the good blood. >> In the beginning, I told you that if I apply it anywhere, they will start doing that. >> But only the bad blood or good blood also.
(57:58) >> Good blood also. >> Also, >> yes. And that's why when you go to Assam or Kazirana or some or in the even in the poker area during the rainy season and if you are enjoying when you come out you see that your your socks are red your socks are red and when you see and then you start dancing because you already without your notice you got them don't worry at all >> and also if somebody has got any issues in the head Even something like Alzheimer's or anything to do with the brain can you put it on the head also to
(58:36) take out blood from here >> anywhere I will tell you that there were see we have a practice as a general surgeon so the anorctyl area the problems are much more anorctyl means hemorrhoids piles and sometimes they become swollen so every day you have to attend the toilet every day you cannot do fasting for constip I mean for the bowel and if you have so much strong then we have applied the leeches in that area also.
(59:07) The ladies are concerned we were having our maternity home and uh the the new baby if he is not taking the the breast milk and if it is loaded very much sometimes they have the absess here and then this is a problem so we have applied it there also because this is a instant relief. So I have given you two examples. One we can apply anywhere.
(59:32) Now anywhere means what? Let me tell you. You get an absess. You get absess here in the gums also. Here down also sometimes anywhere on the body in the beginning you have tremendous pain because it is a swelling. But when it is riped and when the pus is formed pain is not there. Then the pain goes away. We call it as a three stages.
(1:00:01) The first stage is unripe. Then the second stage is before ripe and the third when the pus is formed that is ripe. When it is riped it's my job to take the knife and open and take the puss out. But can we do before that? Can we abort the process of forming the absess? Yes. So if you come earlier anywhere you are having an infection and if you have you can apply the leeches that is their great job. They break the pathology.
(1:00:32) They break the pathology especially paronyia that means underneath the nail many times which we call it the here the space is very little and if you have some infection over here then you have severe pain you can't do anything in such cases we have used the leeches so leeches are very nice and that's why the god of medicine is holding it okay uh I want to quickly now uh go on to a very important area called dinachara.
(1:01:04) What every human should do before when they wake up and when they sleep. So what I when I do for me the sleep part is quite clear. So I want to just share that one is I take sesame oil and I massage my foot. Yeah. And I take that sesame oil and I rub it, rub it, rub it, rub it, rub it just before sleeping.
(1:01:21) And whatever oil is left in my hand after doing this, I keep it on the palm. I don't wash it. So this and this is fully oiled. I put castor oil here or sesame oil here. Yeah. And of course like I said I put the mixture of coconut oil and castor oil on my face and neck because here the wrinkles start showing first. This is like a botox.
(1:01:41) Uh apart from that before sleeping I do brush my teeth I recommend I want to ask you about that also not to brush your teeth in the morning because in the morning when you wake up the saliva has got good bacteria as for what I have understood and I want to ask him for his opinion. So what I do is I take a some water in the morning I switch it in my mouth and I drink it because I want that saliva inside the body and before I do that I take some saliva and put it inside my eyes because it's good for eyesight also. So he has started with dinina
(1:02:08) charara correct dinachara that means daily routine. Before that I want to tell you that all of us when we are coming here on in this hall we we came up so we are on the top floor and there is one floor ground also. So we are so this is on pillars. So do we have some pillars of life for us which are very important on which our life is based? Yes.
(1:02:36) There are three more most important pillars that we check when the client is coming to us. One is ahara that is food. Second vihara exercise and the third one is sleep nidra. We give that much importance to the sleep also. Why? Because all repair organization at every level at the brain level or at the liver and the system that is happening at night.
(1:03:05) See the sun is up in the afternoon. But again the sun is up in [clears throat] at 12 midnight. There are many people who sometimes wake up or those who are working in the software area sometimes they have to work long because they have some schedule which has to be completed and do you know that even you have taken your lunch if you are working at 12:00 you feel hungry if you're sleeping no problem but if you are awake then again you start feeling hunger and then as he says you go for chudra or something and you snack so
(1:03:44) snacking what we call which is natural. So what I want to tell you that sleep is important. Why I'm talking before at what time you go to sleep and at what time you wake up is really important for your stable health. I will not recommend you to sleep after midnight after 12. Actually 10 is the last 10:00 is the last 10:30 okay there are many people who don't get the sleep there are many people who have the bad dreams there are many people who get disturbed we with even some some sort of
(1:04:31) noise or interrupted sleep what I will say this is not good for you should concentrate and you should see that how you will get a good sleep. What time you are supposed to wake up? Now I begin with the dinachara. You are supposed to wake up to welcome >> sun. So usually 45 minutes before him. Don't go exactly if the sun is coming at 6. 45 means I will wake up at 6.
(1:05:02) 5 is the good time. And in the morning if you want to remember something that is the best time. We are in the two separate rooms. My wife she she go on chanting Gita because she want to know by heart all the chapters of Gita. I go in the another room and I also want to remember something that I I do that. So remembering if you want to remember something the best time is morning.
(1:05:31) There is a complete peace at home also and uh you can do that. then I'm not in favor of his part. He might be happy with that but I'm talking about cleaning the mouth. Okay, brushing for example. Now the way we are brushing is not identical with ayurvea. We usually have for example kolgate or any any sort of pest which is sweet.
(1:05:59) Sweet is not recommended in the morning. In the ancient days all of you know that we were having the neem tree and the tender stem of the neem we were putting it into the mouth and chewing like that. So the bitter type of anything. Now in the market there are many types of the the bitter type of the herbal paste are available you can use them.
(1:06:23) But the second question Bijay comes when you are supposed to brush he says that he does it before going to bed. I will tell you as many times you eat during the day that many times you are supposed to brush. Why? I will tell you. I want to tell you that he has started with arthritis which is very common problem at younger age also.
(1:06:54) The arthritis had many many types. I don't want to go into details of that. Osteoarthritis, rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, there are so many types. Okay, that but it begins in the mouth. You know that arthritis begins in the mouth. B >> because this is a very nice cultural center.
(1:07:19) The temperature is different and in the teeth and in the gums. If you if you have a little piece of rice or anything that is remaining inside they are happy they are dancing they are multiplying I'm talking about the bad bacterias this is a nice cultural area for them so anytime you eat I will suggest you to brush but for me to prevent many uh uneasy things inside it is not only the arthritis there are many problems happens Here for example sinocitis, running nose, cough, there are many things which are connected here along with the brushing. I will suggest you to do some
(1:08:02) gargling gander. >> Oil pulling. >> Huh? >> Oil pulling. >> Yeah, >> oil pooling is best. No. >> Yeah, not only oil, not only oil, you can have a little turmeric and little salt. That's it. And little warm water. And you can add little oil. Go to the wash basin and do the gargling. You can keep it and throw it.
(1:08:27) Why? Because then your ustation tubes are also nice. Your the police signal. You know whenever we are with the car there is a red, the yellow and the green. Same way we have the nasoparings. We have oruro fairings and lingo fairings. I call it as a signal. And what is sore throat? Sore throat is nothing but the that stand on which these signals are there.
(1:08:48) So if you do the gargling your nose is also very nice, your sinuses are also very nice. It is lubricating also and cleaning also. So this is how you start the dinina charara. Now if you ask I I go the next about the awa water. It is always good if you are used to drink some type of water. I'm not talking about cafe or chai or something.
(1:09:13) Instead of that anybody of any constitution make a habit to start to put something inside in the form of herbal tea. I will not suggest anything. If you have rosamarine, if you have basil, if you have anything at home, even the neem, leongrass, >> tuli, >> h tuli, anything that you have or whatever they put it here, the mint in the water, the one which is fresh with you in Italy, I have seen that I have worked in Italy many times, many years on the on the back side of their gallery, they already have the different type of
(1:09:55) spices. and they just take them and use them while preparing. So same way I will suggest you you can also have some like like tuli leongrass with you and use them fresh especially the winter is coming. Now here winter is pleasant but those who are coming from other countries their winter is strong. So I will suggest them to boil it and drink it like a chai hot sip by sip and it is always better if you medicate it.
(1:10:25) Siddha jala it is called as siddha. Siddha means when the priest usually he take the the glass and he do the mantras oh brah room and give it to you. One of the main causes for inflammation is also sugar especially refined sugar white color. It causes so much inflammation in the body.
(1:10:46) So much poison is there in the white sugar that it cannot be you know said in simple English it's the worst thing you can have causes so much inflammation and that whole aging process that I started this whole talk with that is accelerated 10 times because of refined sugar so what we are talking you might be thinking that that white sugar is sugar it is not sugar it is super saturated sugar super strong sugar the jagury is also same Honey is also same.
(1:11:17) Sometimes people come to me and they say that I'm not taking sugar. Instead of that I have shifted to jagury, I have shifted to honey. No, no, no. They are the sisters and brothers of each other. Then what is sugar? >> Sugar is carbohydrate. The rice is sugar. The chapati that we eat is sugar. The bread that you eat is sugar. This is real glucose. Okay.
(1:11:41) So the so you have to decrease it. What we do? We take salar this much okay vegetable this much to chapati this much of rice. So reduce gradually that and increase the quantity of salar the vegetables the curry etc. And in short I want to say that during the eating if you are taking one bread one Indian chapati or slice of bread then you should have one glass or the one cup of salad one cup of dal one cup of vegetable if you want to take another chapati then again you have to take that much okay he's a very learned vigan he's
(1:12:22) a scientist he's done research also somebody like me who only knows about ayurvea from the point of view So being a patient not having studied not knowing anything even somebody like me I have given a lecture in Mexico for 6 hours non-stop except for a small lunch break it's such a vast subject it's so big that is incredible and it's fascinating the thing about alopathy which I hate and I'm going to use that word hate in a yoga festival is that today they will tell you eggs are bad for After one year they will say no no no no
(1:13:02) sorry eggs are not bad the yolk is bad you can have the egg white and then people start going to the gym and they have egg white after 2 years they will say no no no sorry the egg white is bad the yolk is good that's the problem with with alopathy ayurvea is constant ayurvea doesn't keep changing every day it's what was there 5,000 years ago that is documented maybe even more it comes from very interestingly from the sensitivity of pranic somebody who's on prana somebody who's who's really sensitive when I did my kundalini yoga
(1:13:35) course for 26 days I couldn't wear a watch for 3 months so I asked gurush my teacher I said sir after doing the course I can't wear a watch he said become because you became so sensitive to energy that the battery inside a watch it's interfering with your meridians so you don't feel like wearing it now of course you know I'm back in the Wi-Fi back into you know everything.
(1:13:57) So now I can wear it no problem. But this more sensitive you become the more when you touch something, smell something, you know how it is affecting you. And the rishies living in the in the Himalayas on prana, on sunlight, on fasting, on meditation had that sensitivity to understand also observation of animals.
(1:14:19) Recently also there was a chimpanzeee who got hurt and the scientists were observing the chimpanzeee. They were not allowed to disturb or help or try to intervene. But they saw that this chimpanzeee went up to a particular tree would take out the leaf every morning of that tree do this squeeze it take the juice and put it on that.
(1:14:38) So the rishies also did that observation of watching what animals do when they in any kind of distress. So we just here to introduce it to you to tell you that next time you have a problem don't go to your alopath look for a naturopath or an ayurvea practitioner or take his number. You can always consult him.
(1:14:56) I want to tell you that every science I'm talking about the medical sciences they have limit [snorts] including ayurve we know that ayurve homeopathy alopathy if you go chiropractitioners osteopath everyone has their limits. So we understand that and we respect the other sciences also. Sometimes we also have to use the alopathy.
(1:15:21) But why alopathy? We are not recommending in the beginning because the products that you take as a medicine they are coming from petroleum just they are more chemical and body is not used to that so when they enter inside sometimes you have a good effect sometimes you have an reaction and that's why try the natural one I will give you one example when I say about uh limitations we were working in Hano hill design in Germany and one of my osteopathic friend he was doing osteopathy he was very famous so he was having six tables and he was working on
(1:16:00) first the second the third I was observing [snorts] and I observed that he is working without understanding armor BJ and still he is working he's getting results with few patients immediately with few he he needs four to six weeks so after we were working for few days I requested him uh can you do one favor? I see that some of the people have amma undigestion inside.
(1:16:31) Can we do panchakarma first and then you do osteopathy? He says why not? In short when we have clear their body the effect of osteopathy was immediate. So this way we should understand each other and work together. No, no. I have I mean alopathy has a space. If I meet with a car accident and my hand gets cut, I'm not going to take a leaf from the mango and I'm not going to put that.
(1:16:55) I'm going to run to the hospital. Alopathy has a has a space. But >> for most of the things that we run to the doctor for for like headaches and fevers and diarrhea and you know fatty liver and arthritis, there's a lot of solutions that are found in Ayurveda and that's what we wanted to bring to you.
