*ఓ భరతరాజు వంశస్థుడా, సకల దుఃఖాలు మరియు చింతల నుండి విముక్తిని కోరుకునేవాడు, పరమాత్మ, సర్వ దుఃఖాలకు నియంత్రకుడు మరియు రక్షకుడైన శ్రీ హరిని గూర్చి వినాలి, కీర్తించాలి మరియు స్మరించాలి.*

శ్రీమద్ భాగవతం 2.1.5

*పరీక్షిత్ మహారాజుకు జీవించడానికి కేవలం 7 రోజులు మాత్రమే మిగిలి ఉన్నాయి. అతను శుకదేవ గోస్వామిని అత్యంత ముఖ్యమైన ప్రశ్న అడుగుతాడు:*

 భగవంతుడిని సర్వాత్మ (సర్వస్వానికి ఆత్మ), ఈశ్వర (సర్వోన్నత నియంత), మరియు హరి (దుఃఖాలను తొలగించేవాడు) అని గుర్తించడం ద్వారా, ఈ శ్లోకం దృష్టిని గృహ జీవితంలోని తాత్కాలిక, ప్రాపంచిక చింతల నుండి శాశ్వత సత్యం వైపు మళ్లిస్తుంది.

బాహ్య పరిస్థితులతో సంబంధం లేకుండా, ఆధ్యాత్మిక సాక్షాత్కారం మరియు శాంతి అనే స్థితిని నిర్ధారించే ఈ భక్తి సాధనల ద్వారా ఒకరి చైతన్యాన్ని తీర్చిదిద్దడమే మానవ అస్తిత్వం యొక్క అత్యున్నత ప్రయోజనం అని ఇది స్థాపిస్తుంది.                                                   O descendant of King Bharata, one who desires to be free from all miseries and anxieties must hear about, glorify and also remember the Supreme lord Sri Hari who is the Supreme Soul, the controller and the savior from all miseries.

Srimad Bhagavatam 2.1.5

King Parīkṣit has only 7 days to live. He asks Śukadeva Gosvāmi the most important question:

“What should a person do at the time of death?”

This verse gives the clear, decisive answer.

The verse declares that any person desiring absolute fearlessness (abhayam), freedom from miseries and anxieties must engage in the threefold process of hearing about (śrotavyaḥ), glorifying (kīrtitavyaḥ), and remembering (smartavyaḥ) the Supreme Lord Sri Hari. 

By identifying the Lord as sarvātmā (the soul of all), īśvara (the supreme controller), and hari (the remover of miseries), the verse shifts the focus from the temporary, mundane anxieties of domestic life toward eternal reality. 

It establishes that the highest purpose of human existence is to mold one's consciousness through these devotional practices, ensuring a state of spiritual realization and peace regardless of external circumstances.
