*ఓ మిత్రమా, నీవు ఈ లోకం నుండి ఒంటరిగా వెళ్ళినప్పుడు, మరులోకంలో నీతో పాటు ఉండటానికి తల్లి, తండ్రి, బంధువులు, భార్య, సంపద, మరియు కుమారులు ఎవరూ ఉండరు. కాబట్టి, పునర్జన్మ అనే వ్యాధికి నివారణ అయిన శివ నామాన్ని నిరంతరం స్మరించు.*

 *ఎందుకంటే, మిత్రమా, ఆ లోకంలో నిన్ను ముట్టడించే అసంఖ్యాకమైన ఆటంకాల నుండి అది మాత్రమే నిన్ను కాపాడుతుంది.*

o mātā na pitā na bāndhavagaṇā dārā dhanaṃ no sutā yāntam tvām anuyānti kevalam ito loke pare 'smin sakhe tasmāt tvāṃ śivanāma saṃsmara sadā samsārarogāpahaṃ yat tvāṃ tatra sahāyam uddhatatarād vighnavrajād rakṣati 

When you go forth alone from this world, my friend, there will be no mother, father, relatives, wife, wealth, and sons to accompany you in the next. So constantly remember the name of Śiva, the cure for the disease of incarnation.

For that [alone], my friend, will protect you in that world from the vast multitude of hinderers [that will assail you].
